Exceptional

After mulling over several kits for my son to learn on, lots of online advice seemed to recommend Roland due to the quality of construction and materials as well as the great kit sounds.

We are really pleased with this kit - enough functionality to learn on, compact and really well designed and made. Although you don't get as much functionality as some other brands for the money, it's easy to see here where the money went. Everything is just spot on. A breeze to set up too.

Playability is key, and this is really easy and satisfying to play. We decided against the mesh snare to start and that has proved not to be an issue.

So if you're thinking of a starter kit, you'll struggle to do better than this. We went with Thomann due to service and the warranty and delivery was amazingly quick even over the New Year.

Great for beginners!
amarantus42 06.08.2020
It has been over a year since I got this drum set, and it is just great for beginners.
Very straightforward setup and easy to jump in. The drum presets are good enough for anyone to just turn the kit on and start drumming away. Lots of advanced features are missing, which is (imo) a good thing for beginners who can then focus on their technique and timing.
The sound quality is good enough for headphones and there is a possibility to connect an external sound source for a small jam/practice session. I did play around with the MIDI output, and found it to be somewhat lacking in terms of sensitivity (perhaps it was me who didn't fully tune the settings) when trying to record it in GarageBand.
The compact style is great for those living in an apartment, and the pads and pedals are silent enough that I have never had neighbours complain. :)

Overall, this is a product for those who wish to enter the world of drumming at an affordable price.

Nice drums

Very swift delivery as usual from Thomann. There was an issue with the wiring loom, but Thomann sent a replacement out within a few days. I've had these drums now for a good while and they are perfect for practicing quietly.. ish. They take up very little room too.
Even my friend who is a Pro drummer was impressed with the quality and sound

Excellent set of beginner edrums
Fnpt 28.09.2017
Highly recomended beginner edrum set: very well built with a sturdy mount allowing you to play a bit harder on the pads and still keep them under control, relatively low noise pads and very good sounds.

The kick is very silent which is an absolute must if you live in a apartment.

What's even better is that you can connect to your PC and use dum software such as EZDrum or superior for a more diversified array of sounds and also to record.
As for upgrades to the set, I would especially upgrade to a mesh snare for better playbility and feel and to allow rimshots and perhaps later to a better kick pedal.
