Useful and high quality

Dale Cooper_LV, 04.07.2017
The DBS1 is made in Japan and no surprise, it is one of the most solid pedals I own. Then, it is very easy to use. 2 channels, the same settings for each: you can balance the master volume (useful for people like me who have a passive (old) bass and an active) and adjust the bass, mid, treble independently.
I choose this pedal over alternatives such as the ESB because of the simple features. I didn't want any overdrive, distortion, etc. And the pedal has so far delivered.
Some users regret the non-true bypass of the pedal. To be honest, since the EQ is effective, the pedal does affect your tone, for sure. But nothing really major. I haven't noticed a drastic change in tone.
Overall, I am very satisfied.

Very good, but also very expensive!

Gerri, 01.01.2017
The DBS-1 is now an integral part of my pedalboard. I use it, in addition to my basic sound, two slightly changed sound versions available: 1.) to slap, 2.) for solos. The sound control works exactly as I have imagined. Especially the parametric middling control helped me find my ideal sounds.

Unfortunately, the device has no true bypass, which is why I have two stars with the features deducted. Due to the lack of bypass, the device can only support two different sounds by default. Since I did not want to change my basic sound, I used an unused channel of a switch to bypass the device. So I have achieved exactly what I wanted.

It is a little difficult for me to judge whether the price / performance ratio is justified. For my taste, the floor is too expensive. On the other hand, I experimented with other EQs and was never really satisfied. An alternative would certainly have been the Empress ParaEQ with Boost. The costs but just as much as the DBS-1. To this extent, you simply have to buy in this price class, even if it hurts.

The device has now also proven itself in live operation. Everything without problems.
