One of my idols

I actually don't plan on using these sticks...but I can tell the quality is very high. Never used ProMark sticks before; I've always been a Vic Firth guy.
But Mike Portnoy is one of my drumming idols and I always wanted a pair of his signature sticks.

Optimal Grip
Antisense 06.07.2018
As I got "old" my hands doesn't have the same grip as I had before. I was using the Mike Portnoy TX420N, and it was perfect, but as I wrote before I was loosing the drumstick very often, so I tried the new model, such a difference, perfect balance, optimal grip and never loose a drumstick again.
Give them a try and you will see.

These are quality sticks. I have only used Vic Virth 5A for over 20 years but decided to change things up a little. These Mike Portnoy 420X active grip sticks are similar to Vic Firth 5A size but they are a tiny bit longer in the length, and there is a subtle yet significant weight increase in these sticks compared with Vic Firth 5A,,, the tip is also more bulbous and slightly larger. They look and feel and grip great,, the extra weight gives a little more power when hitting which might take some getting used to but overall a fantastic pair of stick made from same quality American Hickory.
