Awkward, a bit ugly, but a very good tuner - Noisy!
Mombasaflash, 13.06.2018
This was purchased solely as a pedal steel guitar tuner - notoriously difficult to tune with 'standard' tuners that are mostly designed for instruments with tempered tunings, like the majority of guitar tuners.

The Strobo SP-1 is supplied with a sizeable number of 'Sweetened" tunings. In the case of the Steel Guitar it allows one to achieve the slightly sharp and slightly flat non-tempered tuning of the open strings AND the pedal/lever changes. I already have a SEIKO Chromatic CENTS tuner for tuning the various open strings and changes sharp or flat, but the digital display jumps around quite a lot and it is not backlit.

After a short period of getting used to how to operate it, this Peterson whips through the normally lengthy process in no time with an extremely clear readout. It can also be left inline and powered down without affecting guitar tone. Handy for quick tuning checks, but slightly awkward in practice because it is such an ungainly great lump.

Fortunately Peterson sells a bracket to mount it to a mic stand or Steel Guitar leg.

This would probably not be my first choice for a normal six string guitar. Too cumbersome.

UPDATE: Although it is advertised as being capable of being left inline for quick tuning access, I have discovered that it is unpleasantly noisy. It introduces an earth loop type buzz that does not go away - whatever fancy cable you use - until it is completely isolated from contact with the amp input, i.e. unplugged.

Very annoying.

Much less use than it should be for the price
Jenna, 26.08.2015
No doubt this is a well made product, but - and it is a very big but... The bottom line is that it is actually less easy to see it settle on a pitch and no more accurate than a decent, cheap tuner app. Overall I am disappointed with the product and instead I use the cheap Peterson cable which enables me to connect to my smartphone and use an app purchased for less that £3.00.

Stroboplus HD - Amazing Tuner !!!
Demon, 20.03.2014
This tuner is so amazing and very versatile. At first it might take a while to understand how it works but after 5 minutes it becomes just natural and even though this tuner is extremely accurate (much more accurate than other tuners) it is still very easy to make the strobes stop and get your tuning just right. Once you get your instrument in tune you are within 0.1 cent range. That makes chords sound much better. Other than this it has many different tuning presetes included which makes life easier, especially if you are tuning different instruments to play together or if you are, for example, intonating a guitar. I would never look back and think of a different tuner for intonating anymore. The dial is big and bright so even from away it is visible, so it can be used on live situtations too. The USB cable is a bit short and for stability you might need to purchase an accessory to have it screwed to a stand for live playing. The tuner also has metronome option available to purchase and because you can connect it to Peterson website you can get updates and do fine adjustments to your taste. So many options. Really good tuner and recommended.

Excellent... but expensive.
GrumpyKeith, 02.12.2018
This makes tuning very easy and precise with its large clear display. I have no worries at all about its accuracy or quality. The USB charging is a very handy feature too.
The only complaint is that it is very expensive, and I'm not convinced it gives me any better tuned guitar than the cheap clip-on tuners.
