Unbeatable value for money
Apollwn, 14.12.2020
I bought this cabinet to use with a number of different small amp heads, namely an Egnater Tweaker 15 (15W), an Ibanez TSA-15H (7-15W) and a modified Blackheart Little Giant BH5H (around 5-6W). So the Celestion Greenback speaker in this cabinet is enough for my requirements. I previously had a Kustom cabinet with an Eminence Lucky Lady speaker. The other option I was considering was the Egnater 112X cabinet, but in the end I decided to go for something with a lower powered speaker.

There is very little to be critical about for this cabinet given its price point. Considering that the speaker alone costs €119 on Thomann (although it can possibly be found cheaper elsewhere), it is hard to figure out how they can offer the cabinet for less than 200 Euros. It is very well made and I can see no obvious issues in the construction. The size is large enough for it not to sound boxy, but not uncomfortably large either. I like the open back design, as I find that it diffuses the sound better in a small room compared to a closed back cabinet. The Celestion Greenback speaker is a good all-rounder for me, offering quality vintage sound which works well both clean and overdriven. Combined with the spacious cabinet it offers enough bass frequencies to be satisfying. The fact that you can get this cabinet with different speakers (Greenback, V30, Cannabis Rex, Governor), means you can get something that matches your individual needs in terms of sound and power handling. And if you want something bigger, there are a few 2x12 options available.

I would definitely recommend one of the Palmer cabinets to anyone looking for a quality cabinet at a low price. Unless you go second hand, it would be extremely difficult to find something that matches it in terms of quality and value for money.

Best box for the buck!
Dr. Klaus, 23.02.2014
First of all, I am using a Laney Lionheart L20H, Strat, SG, Gretsch Semi and a cheap Harley Benton 2x12" V30s box.
I bought the Palmer as an addition to the V30 box, as well as handy box for tiny gigs or rehearsals.

The box itself is quite big, the 12 inch speaker gets much more room as it gets in a 2x12" or even 4x12".
Therefore it sounds not "boxy", but "full". Its open-back construction supports warm clean sounds and the dispersion of the guitar sound in the room.
It can be used alone or together with others, as it owns the very useful feature to be able to have another box switched parallely. (watch the picture of the back, you can see two In/outs. You could even buy 2 or 4 of these tiny ones, to be flexible enough. Also mixing the speakers is possible as every speaker has its own enclosure!)

You can also see "engineered by eminence", which means: Palmer (a great german high-quality company, previously just selling accessories) worked together with Eminence, getting their knowledge and completed offering a hilariously cheap but worthy box. Though it's produced in China, there can be no argument about the tolex and the front covering - well done.

I like the sound together with V30s, as the Greenback is very warm and smooth, but the V30s are working more aggressively. The quite low efficiency of the speaker allows playing it at home too.
--> It's quite an allrounder, which every guitar playe should have in its equipment pool.

WoW~!! Works amazing with my Blackstar HT-1RH
tgchan.com, 19.12.2018
It is biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig like really really big, make sure you check the dimension :)

I love how it gives me the exact sound I was looking for in combination with my 1 Watt tube Blackstar HT-1RH. The quality looks flawless. It is solid (and heavy ;p) and good looking cab. I am so glad you can buy a solid cabinet loaded with a great speaker without breaking the bank.

There is literally nothing negative you can say about it.

My 1 Watt tube amp needs a little push (just a little) to make it shine and sound deep and mighty. It is 12" speaker so it needs a little power to move (be driven) and sound properly.

The sound is rich and so good that I just simply have nothing else to be looking for.

I have not cranked my amp much because the walls are shaking, but I can produce godly sound and still not go deaf while I am practising.

REMEMBER THAT IS in combination with only 1 Watt tube amp head. I can't imagine anything greater for home practise... Unless going deaf is you goal (or playing in a garden or something)

It came in a nicely-secured box which was in another nice thomann box. I love how the shop packs and sends its products. You get clean, undamaged parcels.

I love GERMAN QUALITY AND ATTENTION TO DETAILS.

Palmer 1x12 Cabinet super Qualitiy and price!
Rockfan , 18.09.2014
I purchased the Palmer 1x12 Cabinet with the Celestion Greenback speaker to use it with my Bugera G5 head. I want to use my new "mini stack" mostly at home for practice. That´s why I chose the Greenback Speaker, it has a sensitivity of 98 dB and that´s why it can sound good at low volumes and not only when you drive your amp hard or raise the master volume too high. The V30 Speaker, for instance, is said not to sound as good at low volume as the Greenback does.
The Cabinet is well built and has greater dimensions than your usual 1x12 cabinet. That´s why it sounds a bit bigger than your usual 1x12. Don´t get me wrong it CAN sound good at low volume, but if you need to use it in a band, it can be loud too, but not as loud as most emminence speakers for example. The grill cloth looks stable and the cabinet is well build. I´m very satisfied with it so far.
It can go from crystal clean tones to great hard rock punch(think of AC/DC or 80s Rock) or even into the Metal category, depending on the amp use use with it, of course. It is cheaper than most other cabinets from other brands and has a authentic Celestion speaker built in. Good value for the money.
