Sounds MUCH bigger than its price tag
D_U_S_T_I_N, 30.07.2020
Great service from Thomann, as always. Head arrived even one day before its estimated delivery.

Handling: The head is heavy. The head is big. My comparison is a Laney IRT Studio and a Kustom 5H. Meaning, I am used to small compact heads. The sound is more than worth it.

Features: I connected everything, plus fx loop, and didn't miss anything. Some people might want to tweak the sound more. I don't. The EQ solutions offered are more than enough. I plugged it in, dialed in some basic sound and rocked away for an hour.

Sound: Grown up growl. Sleep and Boris is all I need to mention here. Clean works very well. My Laney IRT sparkles more. Although, that's not what the CR120 is for, if you ask me.

Quality: A tank!

Overall great product
GucciYokai, 28.08.2018
I bought this product one year ago and I'm very satisfied with it.
It's a straight-forward guitar head and it brings great value, especially for the money spent.

Construction quality is good and looks robust, I took it with me a couple times and encountered no problems. I never had a chance to take it on a rough journey but I'd speculate it'd fare nicely.

The clean channel is pretty nice. As usual with amps and heads in general, you may want to improve the sound with specific pedals and equalization. All in all, this brings a nice foundation for building your tone.

The crunch (dirty) channel is great. It can provide a fairly wide variety of tones from simple, bluesy crunch to a much heavier and gritty sound (even without boosting with an overdrive pedal). If you like a raw-ish sound, this head is great. As usual, get some external equalization and pedals to customize the tone to better match your needs.

The equalization on the head itself is nice and fairly precise, you can definitely tell the difference even with small turns on the knobs for both channels.

Totally recommended.

A great head
Muntizeppa, 30.10.2018
This is my first guitar head and the reason I bought this is the little to no maintenence required compared to a tube amp.

The controls are simple, but it also depends on the speaker (and pickups) it's connected to. Overall, I managed to get an almost breaking tone like John Frusciante's (RHCP) through the dirty channel. But I tend to use the clean channel the most as most guitar recordings sounded right through it.

I like the quality, but as a woodworker who has built a guitar cabinet, the seams of the tolex aren't cut flush. It's just a minor detail my sensitive eyes can see.
