The most underrated vocal mic ever.
PiotrWarsaw, 15.06.2018
I use this mic since 3 years. I have used also other condenser mics. Oktava MK 102 isn't problemless piece of equipment. I bought pair of that mics and after mont of use I nead to sent them back to thomann's servise. Build quality is russian quality. ...But, in spite of that.. the microphone' sound is very, very good. Exelent transients response, great smoothness. Lightweigt and small... (Could be a little bit more silent) In my opinion this is the best mic Oktava ever made.

You Will Never Use Another Mic Again
Stephen6496, 10.09.2015
Micheal Joly of Oktava Mod said in a recent post that: 'the MK102 is the only microphone from Oktava that I cant improve'. It is easy to tell why, they have a clarity a forward sound that I had never never previously heard in a microphone before. The mids are so detailed and clear that you will be left saying 'so this is what I have been missing all along. The highs are super smooth and the lows sound perfect too- it is the 'truest' microphone I have ever heard. But it is when you combine this matched pair in XY configuration on a stereo bar that they really come to life- placed over a drum kit or over an acoustic guitar you will only need corrective EQ. The secret to these mics is that they have little or no internal reflections because there is no head basket and the mics leave little or no room sound into them- and of course most home studios have terrible acoustics so this is a huge bonus. These are also fabulous on vocals. All in all a pair of these mics in your studio are worth twice the excellent asking price from Thomann. Pickup a t.bone SSM 5 Shockmount for doing vocals and a pop shield and you will never want for another microphone- highly recommended!

A really nice microphone
Christine605, 22.05.2013
I'm a bit of a fan of the small diaphragm Oktavas and these don't disappoint. They work beautifully on the cellos I recorded and will probably become my standard mic for low strings. The capsules are detachable but it's not clear to me if they are interchangable with the MK012 mics and I'm not about to risk trying it, but it would be handy if that were true.
