Brilliant value for money - great piece of kit!

jianwhite, 20.05.2017
I have been after a Looper for some time and was considering a cheap and basic Looper, as the Boss RC-3 was beyond the budget I considered sensible for the use I thought it was going to get. However the cheaper basic Loopers were too limited in function and recording time. I then found the NUX Loop Core, which seemed to do more than I needed, but was within the budget I had set.

Having bought it, I am absolutely delighted. In use, it easily matches the Boss RC-3, with twice the storage and 40% cheaper. The only Boss benefit I can see would be a proper stereo input, the NUX only has a mini jack stereo input. It has proper stereo output though.

It is robustly built. The only downside on mine is that the battery cover easily falls off. Annoying, but solved with a piece of insulating tape. No big problem, but has to lose a Quality star.

The recording works a treat, with easy roll back for last loop. Great to use. I have not noticed any quality loss of signal at all - impressed!

The 20 drum patterns are a useful selection and can be in 3/4 or 4/4 time. The patterns will match the tempo of the saved loop. You have to start the loop or pattern at exactly the right moment to match. But that is the same with the Boss or any Looper I have used. There is always the tap option, which I prefer anyway. I prefer to get the pattern to tempo by tapping and then lay down the loops to the patterns - but that is personal preference.

Loads of memory, more than any other I can find. It has 99 slots to save to. Couple that with the aux input which you can save as a loop, and you have an all in one backing track recorder. I thought I would just be a casual user. I was wrong! I use it as a foot controlled backing track mp3 player. Works a treat for live gigs. It can save something like 6 hours of recording. I do hour long live gigs using it without a problem. The saved recordings can be backed up/loaded via USB to PC. This means you can record a set of backing tracks in the order you want for different gigs and back them up to your PC as different sets, already to reload depending on which gig you do.

If you want to use it for gigging, this is how I do things: Record the backing track with the using in line - obvious that one! When performing, plug it in after the effects, if your amp has the option. This way you can add FX to your lead as usual and run the backing track unaffected and can control the volume separately. I hope this makes sense. Probably stating the obvious to many of you out there, but if it helps one or two of you, then it was worth mentioning.

To sum up:
This is a Boss RC-3 clone for nearly half the price and with more memory. It does everything in it's description and does it well. It is robustly built and copes with live gig use. If you are looking for a Looper, seriously consider this. I can see no point in paying more just for the brand name. This is just as good and in some respects better.

A wonderful looper for daily practicing

Hello World, 14.12.2017
I've brought Nux Loop Core for daily guitar practicing, so that I could play solo on the chords played by myself. It definitely fits all my needs for this purpose.

Pros:
* It is powered by battery, so I don't need one extra power adapter for the looper.
* The 6 hours recording time is also more than enough.
* The sound quality is acceptable (since I have never tried other loopers, so I cannot tell if it is good or bad, at least I didn't notice much difference than the original sound)
* It is very easy to use.

Cons:
* If one leaves the output cable plugged, it will never go off until the battery runs out. I actually prefer to have a on/off switch on the looper.

Since I only use this looper for practicing, so cannot say anything about live performance or other fancy functionalities other than basic looping and overdubbing. Maybe later I'll learn more about it.
