The only one of its kind

25.05.2016
The NS7III is the only midi controller that allows true satchet performance. Even professional CD players with midi function like the Pioneer CDJ2000er NXS2 can not keep up.
The only alternative: Direct-drive disc players and DVS timecode control.

The NS7III offers:

- Extremely fine-resolved direct-driven? Jogwheels? / Platter with small vinyl plate placed on a slip mat. These ensure accurate control of the audio tracks of the SeratoDJ software. Also the pitch fader is very fine adjustable. In this way, precise transitions can be produced in a classical manner with mechanical pushing and deceleration.
(Anyone who has ever worked with directly driven record players such as the Technics SL-1210MKII will do well when mixing with the NS7III.)

- The three small screens have the most important information, and you do not have to look at the laptop when you select tracks, set cue points or make the correct beatgrid setting of the audio track.
- The controller is quite well processed (metal) and makes a fairly valuable impression. The faders are light and easy to use. The fader curve of the crossfader is adjustable on the controller, the line fader in the SeratoDJ software (for external sources, the line fader curve can not be adjusted).

- About the purchase of the Noismap at Serato (about 100 euros), the NS7III offers the possibility to connect external record players and to use additional scratch / mix control.

- The switch function allows you to control a total of 4 decks with the two panels.

- With the great Akai performance pads, SeratoDJ can perform amazing surgeries in the songs that go beyond the simple cue control and the trigger point is akai-typically just great.

Not so good I liked:

- The equalizers, which according to my DJ professional console experience and compared to other DJ Midi controllers (eg Vestax VCI 380) a somewhat more favorable impression and are not so comfortable in the hand (rubberized or ergonomically shaped rotary knobs would be certainly nicer there Been, but somewhere the price must remain).

- The gain controls, when used for the 4 external sources (such as record players / CD players, iPad, microphone, etc.), attack late and therefore need a lot of fingertip feeling around the range between? And? Too loud? Quick to find. (For live performances with external sources, I find that annoying.) In the software operation with Serato DJ is however different and underlines that it is just a Midicontroller and not a full mixing set.

- Because the nice large filter rotary knob is not usable for the external sources (nothing happens when you turn it), this is also a weak point for use with external sources.
- The rear panel (center left) of the unit is quite noisy when one of the two plates is activated. From? Since you have just the music louder or the headphones. ;-)

Summary:

Who occasionally plug an external source in the life or bedroom DJ use? Would, for the rich the rudimentary connection and modulation possibilities quite off.
Unfortunately, the NS7III does not replace the mixing console.

Whom is it about the? Cool? Performance features of the midi controller and the intuitive use of the versatility of SeratoDJ, the great and heavy wonder box of Numark was put to the heart. For me the currently best of creative midi controllers with absolute scratch-proofness !!

To my person:
Since the mid-nineties, I have been working with DJ equipment and have tried many variants (ProAcoustics / Allen & Heath / Vestax / Gemini, etc.) according to the typical Technics 1210 MKII record player and mixing console setup. My first DJ midi controller was the Vestax VCI 100.
Since I also gladly synonymous scratching into my recordings incorporate, I was a responsive Midi solution very important, which I could find in the NS7III.

The Perfect Controller ....

14.05.2016
Hello,

I am straightforward inspired by this ship of controllers! The processing and haptics as well as optics are also an absolute reference level! The connection to Serato has been successful.

Had only the NV (who will remain in mobile use) and now the NS7 MKIII as home equipment. The NV is the controller which comes right after the NS7 for me. The reason is simple. Displays !!

The laptop (suitably configured) is collapsed next to one and it is without any interest a pleasure to work with these controllers. Material quality, drives of the plates, 2.7kg / cm low torque and 4.7kg / cm high torque are extremely powerful and have extreme Venylfeeling. Right power at the headphone output, right power at the Booth as well as Master Out ..... 24Bit Audiovandlung and 3 displays with correct resolution and (with good hardware) liquid 60fps representation.

If you are looking for a controller with absolute Pro equipment, Pro audio conversion, Pro handling absolute Venylfeeling sat. Pitchfaders very thought - out Touch - sensitive filter EQ? S and effects and absolutely again at what rotating work without without having to count on timecodes, finds in the Numark NS7 MKIII the Perfect reincarnation of a DJ controller offering the highest level of optics, haptics, quality, workflow!

Small minus, the fan is a bit noisy

PS: I would like to all mine that the Potis of the quality do not reach the Pioneer reach, which can only be realized by real metal potentiators they are touchsenistiv! With rubber does not work!
