GREAT BARGAIN! (IF YOU DO NOT NEED EXTREME DISTORTION)
Deadhead, 15.12.2017
This pedal does what it says it will do, and it does it quietly, without unwanted sounds. And it is indeed fully analog without the cheesy digital buzz or interference. For me, it is all I need really, in the sense that it gives two more options on top of my original sound for solos, or for rhythm when higher energy is needed. One touch on the distortion button takes it to the next level of crunch (or distortion or overdrive or whatever you want to call it) And, if you need to take it even further, one touch on the boost gives 15 to 20 db more volume (without changing the distortion level). So it is for me a simple, but very useful addition to my set up, especially for solos. And all of that, with the proven quality of MORLEY, Made in Illinois, USA.

However, this pedal will NOT give you a lot of distortion. It is really ideal for those who are looking for minimalist distortion, such as for blues, or rock and roll, and maybe some hard rock? So if you are looking more for extreme levels of distortion, such as for metal, you need to look elsewhere, or, use this pedal to drive another distortion/overdrive pedal, or to drive your amp's distortion?

Overall, for someone who do not need extreme distortion levels, this is a great choice with Morley quality, and sturdiness, plus it gives you a possibility to boost your already boosted sound without affecting the distortion level.

booster without me
Taurash, 26.01.2018
In my quest for a pedal to boost my saturation and give it some colors, this Morley Man has imposed itself. It is specifically intended for this purpose only. I expected so much.

When unpacking, I discovered a metal case neat, brushed, licked finish that inspires confidence. The pedal is large enough, to press the two buttons (overdrive and boost) without difficulty, and without the risk of touching the knobs volume, gain or tone. Ergonomics is completely faultless.

The pedal allows you to enter a 9V battery, but the plastic cover is hard to close. We must insist. I prefer to connect to my powerplant Junior, and I test, salivating in advance to the idea of ??the color it was going to offer my sound.
And that's where things go wrong. I put all the knobs at noon, I play with the pedal off, then I turn it on. I get a sound that has exactly the same spectrum, but just a little more distortion. Well, I say, she is shy and does not dare to speak. I turn up the volume of the pedal and I raise the tone at 15H. The sound is barely a little more acute, I have to turn on / off the pedal several times to really realize the difference, as it is tiny. Same by inverting the tone setting and setting it to 8h. Barely more serious, barely audible. But as if I had myself mounted a little bit on my bass amp.
No, this pedal is not shy. She is just totally and perfectly neutral. And that's really a shame, because the dosage of gain is very appreciable, easy to adjust, we can give just a little more and activate the booster to play lead, or inflate a moderate crunch to change the musical register , go from pop rock to hard rock at the ACDC. Especially since, even with the gain and the booster activated, it hardly blows. Pity. Too bad !

Advantages :
- very good finish.
- impeccable ergonomics
- almost no breath
- very fine gain adjustment

Disadvantage
- very low tone setting
- brings no color, no flavor.
- high price excluding promo.
- battery compartment clasp capricious.

Overall, it does not match what I was looking for. It can be interesting if you do not want to change the color of your sound and just increase your saturation or booster function, but expect nothing more.
