These are great 'all round' marimba mallets. They sound good at the top and bottom of the instrument, and you can get a wide variety of sounds out of them. Just like the MB blues, they are very versatile and not a bad price. I would recommend them as a good place to start for solo or ensemble marimba mallets.
Mike Balter mallets are truly fantastic and extremely well-made. They are well balanced and feel good to the touch. I use numbers 51 through 55 for playing a variety of antique singing bowls, the differences in head density of these mallets allow me to extract many different sounds and tones from each bowl....Mike Balter all the way!!
