So cool sounds, but not good at handling

07.06.2016
This maus produces so cool sound like TR-909.
And not expensive for qualities of these sounds.

But it is a little difficult to remember how to operation.
You often are needed to press some buttons simultaneously. Considering for the size of tanzmaus, It's inevitable. The size is also an advantage of this maus.
I operate tanzmaus by MIDI of OCTATRACK.

All things considered, This is a So Good product.

Fat beats in the slender device

squatcobbler, 10.05.2017
The dancemouse sounds really cool. Especially the Bassdrum makes really good pressure and offers meaningful adjustment possibilities. Only Noise and Noisedecay are really noticeable when you turn the controls wide.

The rimshot does not provide any other parameters except the volume. I do not need it, because he sounds like he is super.

The Tom is generally rather uninviting and sounds as it should. From the pitch control (not the same as? Tune?) I personally do not use here.

The Clap has (in my ears) a much smaller sweetspot than the Bassdrum and the Tom. But it offers so wide settings that everyone should find a sound with which he can start something.
The weakest I find the Snaredrum, which I also hardly use. But we can also use a sample, which would be the biggest plus of the Tanzmaus.

Due to the 32 samples (which can be replaced by own samples since the last update) you have the possibility to program really original and complex beats, which would be sure to be achieved with a purely analog drum computer.

Otherwise, the operation is already somewhat frickelig (haha), which has however a per se positive reason, namely the large functional scope. Due to the fact that the housing has nevertheless been kept compact, many functions can only be achieved by means of multiple assignments of the buttons. The learning curve at the beginning is quite steep, but if you get used to it, it's going quite well.

Unfortunately, the workmanship left something to be desired for the Tanzmaus. I have experienced it myself and read more often that the Tanzmaus (and also her brother Tanzbär Lite) already arrived with defect at the buyers. Sometimes, potentiometers were broken from the circuit board (they are not screwed to the chassis), or the on / off switch was hung loose in the chassis so that the device could not be turned on. The latter defect seems to have remedied MFB with newer devices, by now a different switch is installed.

One more thing to Thomann directed: I bought my Tanzmaus as a new product. Still, she was obviously used, covered with greasy fingerprints and stuffed without love in her carton. I think it would have been either put back to its new state or sold as B-goods.
