T Turkic hand drum
Lache13, 22.11.2009
The Darabuka of Meinl is, as always with Meinl, out of the rest mass by means of its processing and its handmade ornaments on the copper boiler.
The sound is balanced and round.
A hand-selected goat skin, replacement skin, which is a plastic skin, and a small plastic bag, which protects the Darabuka from dust as well as from bumps or other dangers. A "richitge" bag is also offered by Meinl, but you have to buy just extra.
As a conclusion, it can be said that this Darabuka is a wonderful instrument, characterized by optics and sound.
This instrument I can only recommend!

Review MEINL HE-204
Henning B., 18.10.2009
This darabuka falls first by her look up. The beautiful, multi-colored engraving gives rise to an Arab feeling.

But that's not all. The raised natural skin offers a warm sound ... this can be used very well for Central European music.
But if you want to play really bright things would rather be the plastic fur. This allows all instrument-type playing techniques. Small manko was however the somewhat peculiar size of the skin, since the screws did not fit properly around the metal ring.

However, one can eliminate this problem easily with a file and then everything works perfectly. All around is a beautiful instrument which can show its full presence primarily for Arabic music, but is not wrong for other music as well.

Percussion instruments are the backbone of many traditional styles of music and are a wonderful way to add colour, texture and motion to contemporary music.
