Very good amp

Christos osafer, 05.05.2017
This is a very nice amp which can be used in various ways. Firstly, it is loud enough for rehearsals (as long as you are not rehearsing in a stadium). Secondly, it takes pedals very very well. Finally, it is excellent for recording. I am using it with a 4x12 cab and its loud enough to keep my neigbours busy.

For live use it is probably a bit small, but you're micing your amp anyway (aren't you?). I quite miss the effects loop and the reverb, but for the buck it is excellent.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the product.

use

The manual is minimalist, but there is no need for it. Ha si, a big precision!
I've seen the demo on youtube, as you guess, and the demonstrators change the pentode / triode mode like this, straight forward. Indeed, one understands well the difference of power. But it is really very, very discouraged. It is necessary to switch off, then press the button and turn on the amp. Another important remark (that Captain Lee does not do, which I find with his colleague Rob), as on each tube amp, set the volume and gain to 0. DO NOT TURN ON THE AMPLIFIER WITHOUT A BULLET OF THE SAME IMPEDANCE PLUGGED !!!
This is the most important of the manual.
No 36,000 settings, efficient EQ, very realistic gains and volumes.
PLAY VOLUME !!
Sounds

Good, first test quickly done. I connected it to the HP of my Blues Jr, a Jensen C12N. I will test more on my 2x12 in greenback.
The clear sound is good (I put the presence to 2 or 3 to make it sound more vintage). Well, this is not a JTM45 or 2061x !!
Right away, a remark about the 7.5 power that lacks dynamics compared to 15w mode. So I will not use it as a triode.
You can play at very low volume. EQ is effective. The crunch, gain to bottom channel 1, I will have to go deeper, but not convinced (I think it's better when you turn the volume!). On the other hand, Ultra channel, at the very beginning of the race, when you start to hear sound, there is good.
I let the deep snapped, in 15 watts, the amp has good dynamics. I kept the presence at 2 or 3 maxi, Bass at 7 and middle and trebble hardly more than half. An ACDC sound!
Well, when you push the gain, very reactive, WAAAaooouu! Pffft! Arght! It's good, very good. I then plugged my OCD with the same EQ on the clear channel, too good. My delay Carbon copy, really set everything to the mini in order to have a kind of reverb (looks like a reverb), for me, it goes very very well, no need for effect loop, I do not see this would give better. I never used a loop, it depends on the effects, I do not know, I only have a delay, others may surely say more about it.

EDIT:
Yes already !! Connection on my 2x12 greenback. So there, the slap! Nothing to do with the Blues Jr. C12N. Gaining on channel 1, the crunch is very very good. After, Ultra channel, the top. Presence at 7, gain about half, a little more acute and middle, the Slash sound. Between the two, everything goes by, Led zep, ZZ top, hendrix !! Hmmm, yum yum. I also did the tests with the attenuator. I notice that the volume is good, even very very good. So on this amp, the attenuator is not really useful. Usually, on other amps, lowering the master, there was like a lack of something or dynamics. On this DSL15, there is dynamic, even at low volume. The volume, it sends very strong. There is volume. No problem playing in groups. Regarding the 7.5-watt mode, I said bullshit, it's very good. But when you go from the 15th to the 7th, it's ... Er! Yes, half less strong, and it is a bland after the 15th, just put a little more volume.
HOME

I did not open the amp, I do not know yet what's inside. But apart from the fact that the Vietnamese are most certainly very poorly paid, they work very well. I saw on some Forum, that some had doubts about the quality of an amp made in Vietnam !! Bah yes, the amp is superb, very very well finished, everything is well glued, cut, NOTHING to say !!
I am very happy with this GAS !! I notice that I can play everything with this amp (Well, I can play everything when my chicken legs will allow me one day!).
For 529 euros, there is nothing to say !! You can play all styles by making the right settings.
A reproach, the amp would have been perfect if the channel ULTRA had resumed the gain there or stopped channel 1 thoroughly.

I will update after several weeks of use.

EDIT: After a little movement with the head, I realize that it is not very balanced, it tilts, the transformers are on the same side. I see, but we do not care.
