Tube Amp Head
The 50 W Jimi Hendrix amp head is famous for its honest, open, and above all dynamic sound character. Want to enjoy Hendrix-style distortion? Then turn the power amp all the way up - otherwise the 1987X delivers unique, completely clear, heavy and sparkling clean tones reminiscent of the first Marshall amps. Add to that a warm, British overdrive, available with the 1987X already at a much lower volume in comparison to the 100 W "1959" version, which is what makes this amp head especially interesting, if distortion courtesy of a power amp is what you want.
With the new Vintage Series, next to an excellent reproduction of the original sound, the 1987X gets an additional feature, setting it somewhat apart from the original: its extra FX loop. This is switchable via a hardware bypass, so that when operating without an effects unit the circuitry of the prototype is still available.
