Great light speaker

Thanks to Markbass Traveler 121h, I can now get to live gigs without back-pains. Quite light speaker, for sure.
As for its sound, I'm totally satisfied, I can hear all frequencies loud and clear.
I'm using it with my Fender Jazz Bass Special MIJ, and a Marleux Tonewerk preamp, and I'm about to receive a Little Mark 3 (to upgrade my 300w head).
It sounds just perfect to me, I can only say go for it!

I'm using it together with my CMD 121P combo and it's awesome. It won't change tone character of the combo, but brings more bottoms and presure to the sound.

Great Cab

This Cab is the perfect compromise between size power and tone quality. Great either on its own or in a matched pair it will suit any 500 watt head and is built to last.

Die "Neutrale" Markbass Box

Unscheinbar ist sie, die Markbass 121H. Nicht so putzig klein wie die New York 121p und nicht so groß und furchteinflößend wie eine 104HF. Aber eins hat sie beiden Boxen voraus: Sie klingt um Welten besser! Das Klangbild ist sehr neutral mit einem Schuß Lieblichkeit und Wärme. Trotz der sehr hohen Auflösung klingt sie nie steril oder hart, sondern immer gutmütig. Fretless Sound klingen wunderbar singend und detailreich. Fingersounds druckvoll und ausgeglichen. Slap Sounds sprechen sehr schnell an und sind überhaupt nicht behäbig.

Der einzige Nachteil der weniger mittenlastigen, sprich neutraleren Abstimmung ist ihre etwas geringere Lautstärke. 2 Stück sollten aber auch für lautere Stilrichtungen reichen.

Mein Testfazit:
Die 121p klang mir persönlich etwas zu sehr gepresst und angestrengt. Fette, warme Sounds waren nur mit sehr viel EQ Einsatz zu erreichen. Für das gegebene Volumen klingt sie trotzdem sehr gut. Die 104HF ist mir persönlich zu mittig. Für einen halbwegs neutralen Sound mußte ich die hohen Mitten fast rausdrehen. Die Box ist wohl eher was für Rocker. Die Lautstärke und der Punch sind allerdings atemberaubend. Die 151p älteren Baujahres hätte mir auch gut gefallen, wenn man ein Horn und nicht den Piezo Tweeter eingebaut hätte. Dieser betonte das Rauschen so stark, daß es wirklich nervte.

Die 121h klang für mich am ausgeglichensten. Ich konnte die Klangregler meines Little Mark Tube in der Neutralstellung lassen und mußte nicht gegen nölige Mitten und nerviges Rauschen kämpfen. Da der 12er auf das größte Boxenvolumen/Speaker zurückgreifen konnte, klang er auch am entspanntesten.

Fazit: Für mich ist die 121H die am besten klingenende Markbass Box!
