Almost perfect ---- update: indoor well - for sunshine sh ... oath

I know a lot of Tonleute, PA people etc., which are very biased and critical compared to the Line6 StageScape.
I am an engineer and have already seen and experienced some development generations of mix consoles. A bit critical, I also approached the line6 part. BUT: I was not disappointed.

Service: excellent (at least for someone who had a smartphone or tablet in hand)
Sound: 1A

Ok, you know beforehand with the technical data that you have "only" 12 micro inputs and 6 line inputs. As well as only 4 aux-outs and no aux returns .....
But for a classic band occupation this is sufficient in all cases (even if one for drumset needs some microe inputs)

The console is actually intended for musicians who mix themselves, but it does not hurt if you openly approach the part and tweak a bit in Tweak mode, in order to look at the Deep Tweak, which is actually in the detail has made....

Speaking of operation: Highlight is for me the remote function by IPad. And unlike other users here, I had (with the correct WLAN stick) no problems.

After some OpenAir operations in the summer, I have to revise my opinion unfortunately with a relatively direct exposure to the sun. The display is then unfortunately only extremely difficult to operate.

Very good overall package.

I had the StageScape now at various gigs (our 5-member rock band, as well as 1 little gig of the music school) in the deployment and am around excitement. The service is certainly first habituation, if one is accustomed to classical consoles, on the other hand, everything is more or less self-explanatory. The view into the manual was always only necessary, if I had concrete questions, which at first glance I did not open up. The rest is intuitive. Also you have to get used to the rotary control with acceleration sensor. The slower one rotates, the more subtly they react, turning quickly, this leads to gross value changes. However, if you have already worked with Line 6 products, this principle is already familiar.
Starting with firmware version v1.2, the StageScape M20d probably also offers a classic fader view for the touchscreen and the iPad, which is based on the layout of analogue consoles. I have not tested yet, however, since I work with v1.1 so far.
The iPad connection works with me very well, whereby the search for an adequate solution was a little annoying. Line-6 ??calls on supported W-Lan-Sticks only very few products, which are partly not so easy to procure. In the end, I found a solution, which goes with the use of another device and additional cables, but works well. Apple has a USB Ethernet adapter, which is also supported. If this is connected to the USB port of the StageScape and is connected via Ethernet cable to a normal W-Lan router, you also get a working connection. In the W-LAN router is then no longer bound to a certain type. In my case, an old D-Link router is used. The only thing to consider is that you have to configure the router once before (eg by PC), so Lan and W-Land set up and secure.

Last but not least: the possibility to record all channels live on SD card is also phenomenal. The dry input signals are of course included. These are ideal for creating a mix in the studio later on. It is recorded at 48 kHz in 24 bits, which in most cases is more than sufficient.
Once, however, it happened to me that a mix was not usable. We played with the band 3 sets and I cut all the sets individually (Stopped the recording at the end of a set always). However, the data of the third set were not readable at the end. The opening of the fragments as raw data was also not effective. Here I go however from a user error. I suspect that the SD card was removed or the device was switched off while the recording was still running. All other recordings with the StageScape M20d were error-free.

Conclusion: just smaller bands, which mix themselves, could have fun with the StageScape. The car trimming performs very well at the leveling, and the option of the uninhibited control via iPad brings an extraordinary flexibility. In addition to this - in my view - good sound, as well as a very good equipment with regard to the edibility of the individual channel strips. NoiseGate, Feddback Suppression, Compressor, Limiter, De-Eater, and 4 internal AUX paths for 2 Hall types, Delay, and Voice-Doubling are already a very decent equipment that eliminates the lack of external AUX paths in the background . In addition, there are 4 monitor paths, each of which can be independently pre - or post faders. All in all, the StageScape M20d is from my point of view a great overall package, which is literally "cheap". He is certainly not a bargain, but always worth his price.
