Sipario MIDI
06.08.2016
Bought this to bring some much needed control to a complex MIDI set up, with multiple hard synths, a large modular system and integration with Live.

Very easy to use - I was soon directing MIDI around the system on the fly, using multiple layers and splits on my master keyboard. Good live as well, with easy scene selection allowing for manipulation within a set.

Only down side is the number of in and out MIDI ports. If only there were more!

Highly recommended.

Miditemp replacement?
Frank9635, 21.11.2018
After much deliberation and in the hope that other companies jump on the train of similar, larger devices, I finally bought this device as a small Miditempersatz but because there is nothing else. What is immediately noticeable is the relatively high weight, which is certainly due only to the housing and not the contents of the box. As a connoisseur of matter from the birth of Midi, I quickly found my way around. The menus are logical and user-friendly. Theoretically, 16 devices can be realized at the 2 Midi output sockets by means of Thru cabling. But what should be avoided because of greater latencies for the last devices. It would therefore be desirable to have a device with more Midi inputs and outputs to serve its expander packs in parallel, as newer devices are no longer content with only 127 sounds. For more sounds, there are the MSB, LSB and program controllers in combination. This controls the device perfectly. The maximum possible sound programs can be addressed. Layer, split and veloicity zones are no problem, even a mini sound processing and synchro commands are possible.

downer:
When pressed keyboard keys and simultaneous program change sipario the first selected sound is cut off, so it is not finished playing. Even mastered keyboards in the low level league. So please rework. There would be a selection function with subsequent confirmation better.
No LED for incoming Midi signals, it flickers indeed an Active Sensing display, which is not really important, since there is nothing to hear in the absence of Midi connection and so.
No on and off switch. So you always have to put the cable of the power in or out. Not so good in the long run.
The Touchsreen nice and good, but is not really needed, because everything can be achieved with the endless controller well.
Why today's devices are not developed customer-oriented, opens up to me not.

Conclusion: The device is useful, but not thought out.
