Unbeatable price/value ratio!

thehomerecorder.com, 10.08.2013
I have been having this Kustom Sienna 35 acoustic amplifier for over three years now and I still love it. My overall feeling is that it is very close in sound quality to more expensive competitors, for a fraction of their prices. I never had any issues with this amp despite having used it for various scenarios over the years. It serves amazingly well as a home practice amp and it is loud enough to fill mid size concert rooms with solo performances. There are only three things I would change on this

1. weight: well, you cannot help that unless you give up some of the sound qualities right?

2. the built in effects: some are OKAY, but most of them I have found very limited and a bit far from my taste, use an external reverb pedal. The only effect control is that of a dry/wet knob

3. I had to install an extra switch on it that controls the signal to the speaker as without that, when you switch off the amp, a large cracking sound can be heard which is loud and does not sound to healthy for the speakers. Luckily, next to the headphone/speaker etc jack connections in the back, there is an extra empty hole, so it was easy to screw in an on-off button, cutting the signal to the speaker. First, I switch on/off the amp and once it is running, I switch on/off the speaker.

I can warmly recommend this am

Great amp

16.05.2014
I went to my local music store to try the amp since my pick-ups were broken.

- sound:

I tried playing it on several guitars - electric guitars, nylon and steel stringed guitars. The guitars had both active and passive pick-ups of different kind. Even though it's a acoustic amplifier it produced a rich great clean vintage tone on the electric guitars. I'd recommend this for those who want to start playing electric guitars and seeks the best clean sound for the cheapest price. You can choose between 8 different sounds, they do all sound great, you can easily turn off this function if you would like and only play by the guitars natural sound.

- easy to use?

The amp is really easy to use and to get started with. I owned a Fender Mustang II and compared to it the Kustom Sienna was a lot more user friendly.

- does it make noises? It's quiet and doesn't make any annoying noises.

- quality: it's really beautifully made, I love the combination of the natural wood and darkbrown leather, it looks really aesthetical.

- summary: Bang for the buck.

- my experience with Thomann: fast, cheap (sometimes free) and safe deliveries; outstanding customer support; best prices in Europe.
