Very good sound, but service still up

Chris ZY, 02.04.2018
I ordered the Korg Prologue 16 because of the great design and the 16 voices to make the sound. In principle, it fulfills this purpose, the sounds are - not least wg. the multi-engine - very good. But when it comes to handling hapert it in some places enormously, which was the fun during testing but very detrimental, which is why I finally decided to return. I did not want to compromise so much on the price.

Since SDK and the Librarian software was not yet available, I can not give any rating in this regard. A panel software for the iPad like the Behringer Deepmind 12 is not planned to my knowledge.

- sound
- optics
- Keyboard (but unfortunately without aftertouch)
- oscilloscope display (nice gimmick, the ear does not replace it)

- Arrangement pitch and modulation wheel on the keyboard - when playing I often triggered the bottom button, as this is not properly covered by the wooden side parts.
- No dedicated controls for velocity influence on filter and volume
- No dedicated controls for the up to 6 parameters of the multi-engine
- Value control without acceleration function (you have to turn very often, bring a parameter from 0 to 127)
- Filter Drive and Keytrack no stepless controls but 3-stage switches
- LFO frequency in position SLOW and FAST not specified in Hertz or other meaningful unit
- no real display, which would facilitate the operation
- the 8 program keys are not labeled (in the manual already) - at least I could not find the fifth key spontaneously, but always had to count)
- No bank / preset system for quick navigation to a specific preset via number (a joke at 500 presets!)
- Some of the switches are designed as buttons. These have a clearly noticeable game and therefore do not feel very solid.

I'm now considering buying the Arturia Matrixbrute instead and using a DAW plug-in for Polysynths (like Omnisphere).

Great sin

Toniponi, 10.07.2018
Prologue16 redeemed my prediction assumption was exactly what my hope was for. (I'm not writing this for synar ... but for musicians.)
I'm mostly interested in live-playing, sound quality - especially its originality, and workmanship.
+ Most important control points are displayed, so you do not have to wade hidden menus. So the sound can be easily and intuitively modified on the fly.
+ Although I synahifistelijöille this type in all, so I'm actually kind of, and I know what I have acquired. Korg's filters have their own clangs in my heart. I own other mizzy, but they have their own stuff again. Snooping is not a sport but an art.
+ Vire seems to stay analogous.
+ The whips are a do-it-yourself act and they rotate in jumps with good quality, with little resistance - you do not accidentally smack them. Aluminum-wood bark is also sturdy.

- Aftertouch is missing, but I myself (at least not yet) have longed for it.

This is my intention to use a lot of gigs in different configurations (Electro, punk, pop).

Thomann was brilliantly served!
