The best budget can offer
snakeyay, 16.08.2021
To preface this review, I also have KRK RoKit RP5 Classic studio monitors for comparison, unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to test these with some very expensive monitors, and I am only a bedroom guitarist/music listener. You can find many more "more knowledgeable" reviews pretty much anywhere.
At this point, I have extensively used them over the past 2 months

To start this off:
- These speakers have spoiled me. The QUALITY of the sound is a pure heaven to ears
- I found myself wanting to listen to well-produced albums over poorly produced albums: these speakers can handle anything and NOTHING is overly pronounced (such as the low end on KRK, they do have bass frequencies a bit boosted)
- Monitors are in front of me, on the sides of my screen monitor, connected via balanced XLR cables (yes, you need to buy those) to a Scarlett Focusrite 4i4 audio interface

The issues around these monitors:
- The early sets of these monitors seemed to have issues with them turning off randomly (the sleep mode engaging), these have been fixed (considering my pair of monitors)
- White noise? Yes, it exists. If, somehow, you are lucky enough to have a dead-quiet neighborhood and household and NOTHING else is making any noise (3am in the morning, for example), AND the monitors are dead in-front of you, you will hear the "ssshhh" white noise if nothing is playing through them. For most, if not all, people this will not be an issue - I can hear it if I put my head 30cm or closer to them, otherwise, my AC or fan makes more noise than this.
- Monitors are hot? Not these. KRK ones on the other hand, they can be a nice heat source during the winter, Kalis? Nope, I routinely have them on for more than 12 hours a day every weekend.

Why would you buy this product?
- These studio monitors are NOT small, so be vary when ordering them that you have enough space for both of them
- This product has been aimed at the bedroom music-lovers, producers and musicians, the controls on the back are a clear indication of that as not all of us can have the perfect room to put the monitors in
- You do not want to spend a ton of money for a set of amazing monitors
- If you are considering between others and are stuck reading endless reviews, these ARE the best in this price-range (after being exposed to HS-5, G5 and RP4's)

Why wouldn't you want to buy these monitors?
- You can afford something a bit more expensive and/or need something bigger for your situation

Amazing monitor
Svarog, 06.06.2020
Got these to upgrade from an actually simillary priced monitors I already have in my home studio, because I heard a lot of great reviews.

I have to say that I was blown away by the depth, width and clarity coming out of these speakers. Low end is very solid and high end accurate.
As I mentioned, I already have a pair of 6" monitors that are in the same price range and very popular choice for a lot of home studios... but when I compared the sound, these old monitors sound almost like a mono speaker with a thick blanket over them compared to Kali.

I have seen people mention the hiss on these speakers being terrible... in my experience it is barely audiable, only when you come really close to the speaker, and of course once the music is playing you don't hear it at all. It is such a tiny problem compared to what you get for this price.

Pros:
-Width and clarity of the sound
-Crazy low price for such sound quality

Cons:
A slight hiss if I had to pick one... but in my opinion barely noticable.

Very good value
Peter V_, 24.01.2020
My first pair of studio monitors, been using them for more than 6 months and got used to them so much. They sound really good. Their frequency response is great, even in my (yet) untreated room I can get the job done and for most applications my mixes translate well. I've measured the frequency response and it's fairly even (besides two buildups in bass due to room) with a nice rolloff in the highs - the official published graph shows a bump close to 20k, but my measurements don't see that. The class D amplifier unfortunately has some self noise, and after some research online I found a post from Kali Audio confirming that this is the tradeoff with the LP models. It's still workable, but below around -60dB I can't hear anything but the noise. I use spectrum analysers as workaround. The amp turns off after like 10 minutes of silence and turns on after a few seconds when there is signal. It happened a few times that the amp shut off despite actively feeding it, but a quick turn off/on resolved the problem and the issue wouldn't reappear for quite some time. They are well built and look very nice.
Overall I'm satisfied with what I got - for now. I'll definitely need an upgrade in soem time, and if Kali has something else in store by then I'll be sure to check it out.

Poor Quality Control
Fret Marker, 23.05.2020
Keep going into standby mode (yes the jumper switch is in the right position to avoid power saver mode). Even with signal passing at a medium level they both randomly go into standby for 5 seconds at a time, at different times to each other, sometimes once a day, sometimes several times an hour. Have contacted support but want video proof which is hopeless. Don't waste your money. Very Disappointing support.
