There is no doubt that these are expensive speakers, especially with the quality of products on offer from the likes of Behringer, but after a couple of outings I am blown away by the HiFi quality sound, light weight and looks.
They certainly look the part, with their understated but expensive look, dulled down JBL logo and power light on the front. Very classy indeed.
They are very easy to handle, you can pick them up with a single hand from any handle comfortably as the handles themselves are chunky and the speaker's weight is so low. Getting them ontop of an extension pole/tripod is easy.
In terms of sound, overall I would rate them 8 out of 10 as the Bass response is lacking slightly, especially for a 15" driver, its almost as if the onboard eq is pulling back the bass output to protect the driver, this isnt a problem for us as we have 18" subwoofer's to enhance the bass but we couldn't rely soley on the 615's. Obviously if you upgraded further and spent more money you would get higher power and better bass response based on the specs availble.
That being said the sound is incredibly lifelike for a PA speaker and I have never heard anything quite like it, you could have these in your living room and watch a movie and they would give a clean, room filling sound.
The features available are good, we have yet to set up the blutooth eq control (bit of a gimmick) and the preset eq's on the back are not likely to be used either but overall having 2 inputs with seperate controls is fantastic, you can just turn up to a gig with a mic and iPod and daisychain in another 615 and you would be ready to go!
I would say its definately worth purchasing the cases as these not only protect the front mesh from getting scratched but also the mixer/amp controls on the back...oh and also you can show off the big orange JBL logo too!
Simply have to give them 5 stars because they are certainly fit for purpose and I don't think anyone could be disappointed.
