A case for the hard knocks!
FentonWeill, 16.02.2019
When I bought my '67 Mk 6 Alto, I was thrilled that it had its original case which was (like the horn) unmarked and like new. However, a few road trips and gigs made me realise how daft I was to use the original case - no-one respects a piece of luggage in the back of the band van! So as I'd already bought a Winter case for my Mk6 tenor, getting another for the alto was a no-brainer.

It's beautifully made, extremely robust and the interior padding fits the sax like a glove. It also has the advantage of being square (well oblong) shaped so it can be easily and safely stacked in the van unlike Hiscox-style cases (don't ask me how I know!).

One cautionary note: do be sure to check that the catches are clicked down tight-shut before lifting the case, as you can't easily tell by looking whether the case is locked. Otherwise, an excellent item, allowing me to put the original case away ready for the day when someone else has to sell the sax when I join that big ska band in the sky!
