A classy guitar at a reasonable price.

Ivan Paul H., 13.08.2014
The Guild X-175 Manhattan is a great guitar for the money. The guitar looks stunning and as soon as I picked it up out of the box, I was impressed by the feel of it.
Even without a set up, the neck felt good and easy to play and the intonation wasn't far out. Unplugged, it produces a nice, fairly mellow acoustic sound which is far superior to that of other comparable guitars that I own or have tried. Once plugged in it doesn't disappoint and gives a good range of sounds and I have had no problem with feedback.
The only criticism I could come up with is that the cream P-90s look too new and clean and would be better if they were aged. I guess that's just me being picky.
I would definitely recommend this guitar!

A Hollowbody dream becomes true.

Baya , 02.11.2014
What should I say to this guitar she is a dream, all the details are just great a super reissue! From the beginning of the processing to the sound acoustically as well as over amplifiers, a guitar is the same.

I've been searching for such a guitar for a long time in an affordable frame ... Block inlays, P90's (guild calls them frequency tested pickups which are a kind reissue of the Franz single coils) Flöcher, Hollowbody, harp tail, 3piecie mahogany & maple neck , Maple & spruce body and still Antique burst! more does not work or does it? it even has small gold points on the ton & volume controls to allow you to read the setting better. This guitar is simply supra noble in this price frame

As already written the processing is top! as it is made by hand (in any case handcrafted in K.) whether Korea or Usa "whatever" sound and play must be good and that does it, the neck with its Vintage U form can be super grab and the frets are also exactly fitting, they play like butter smooth and supple. the body has a good response and is not too big or too wide as many other archtop.

the sound / sound of the frequency tested pickups (aka reissued franz) is the hammer he is somewhere between strat single coils and lp p90's and one gets nen super Oldschooligen Overdrive Rocksound or also clean, surfrock etc. which still rarely applies , the tone controls do what they should and you can control the whole character of the guitar with it. there is no big noise or humming but you should get a little friendly with singlecoils ^^ and since I have only single.c's is like the lp or the strat.

The X175 brings my Tweed Champ & JTM1 nice to shout synonymous clean is everything from Neil young to Hendrix: D sounds great with any pedals from the simple Od / Fuzz over Wah wah to the Univibe everything just sounds great with the certain acoustic touch ..

The general sound is just bombastic, loud enough to practice at home or somewhere or to jam with friends and strengthened it completely and completely, a beautiful full sound with the acoustic body and character one often or hin and again missing at e's. and with feedback from the amp I had in the 1st week since I have it up to now also no problem it can be very well control and control whom it occurs, and in the styles which I play even partly desired: D

Definitely the perfect jazz box but also good for all the other stile I myself play from Reggae to Psychedelic rock and everything sounds as it should.

Over the sound one could write more but experience is just ehh always better.

and before I forget in some reviews on the internet it would not be so vocal stable, I can not confirm my comb almost perfectly tuned and perfectly adjusted by thomann with me and deters up to now less than my Gibson lp.

There is even NEN good looking and padded suitcase to it ne guidance as one the trussrod adjusted a key for it and a 2. wood bridge the but as I from searches in some forums rausbekam no direct replacement is but a a little different attitude or something brings who knows ^ ^ (vllt other wood?) I have to try and search again or ask for guild.

definitive purchase recommendation
