A good Guitalele with some minor QC issues.
Scrimbim, 30.04.2019
Overall the Guitalele is extremely comfortable to play and it sounds great.

However there are some really glaring QC problems with the instrument.

Such as the fret board (as opposed to being a different type of wood to the neck) seems to be just stained (very poorly) and the stain is sloppily applied as there are patches of unstained wood near the higher frets and the stain has been accidentally applied to random fret markers.

The colour of the instrument is also considerably brighter than expected, it appears more orange than brown (I was expecting the instrument to be several shades darker than it was).

The only problems I have with this Guitalele are cosmetic, as otherwise the instrument sounds and plays beautifully.

It's just a shame that an instrument with the Gretsch branding has such blatant QC issues, as otherwise the instrument is perfect for the price.

Gretsch G9126 guitar ukulele
Paul153, 02.07.2013
This is a good quality instrument, not a top quality instrument. The action was a little high but most manufacturers do this so that players can adjust an instrument to their own preference. I took about 1mm off the bottom of the saddle and then it was about perfect playability. This instrument would also benefit from a hard foam case as opposed to the soft gig bag. It has a nice warm sound and I am pleased I bought it. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Cute and knows it!
Michael9506, 02.11.2015
A beautiful instrument! The wood is not too shiny, and is a gorgeous shade of mahogany. The inlay is nicely done, maybe faux abalone, but looks real. Great to see Gretch across the headstock, and its cheeky '1883', possibly mimicking Martin's 1833. Yes, made in China, but finely crafted and easy on the eye. Sounds more ukulele than guitar, but enjoys its own distinctive colour. Action is just right, and pitching accurate. Lends itself well to open tunings, sounds good either finger-picked or strummed vigorously and takes a capo well. One of those instruments that begs to be picked up and cuddled.

Sehr sympathische Kleine
Michael V. 497, 24.06.2013
