Etwas Luft nach oben...
Papiertiger, 18.08.2017

Very decent working man's hollowbody
LatsaJusa, 18.07.2017
I have been playing guitar semi-professionally for about 20 years. From bars, weddings and birthday parties to sold out concert halls, material ranging from 30's jazz standards to 80's Hard Rock/ Metal. I usually carry around 2-4 guitars on any kind of gig and this one made to my top two. I never thought that one could get a decent sounding hollowbody for under 1000 euros, but man was I wrong...
It was almost perfectly set up out of the box, only minor tweaks on bridge height and intonation were needed after installing a slightly heavier set of strings. Other than that it was ready to go.
When plugged into an amp, it sounds like a hollowbody electric is supposed to. Slightly boxy and honky that is. Some hollowbodies tend to sound muddy and "veiled" especially on the neck pickup, but this guitar retains clarity and attack.
Obviously playing through a heavily distorted (let alone fuzzed) rig is not what this guitar is designed for, but you can get real cool buzzing, roaring and screaming sounds if you can manage the feedback. Unless you play in a heavy metal band or other high gain setting, this guitar is a viable option for any style from jazz via funk and pop to classic rock setting.
The neck is a middle ground C-profile, I'd say a bit on the thinner side, but I like chunkier than usual necks. It is comfortable to play, supports bends and vibrato quite well and can keep up in lightning-fast runs if you can.
The guitar itself is very comfortable and easy to play both sitting down and standing up. Large arched body gives a good support for your picking hand and is overall well balanced when strapped up. Oh... it is quite light too, which I consider a huge boon when you have to play 3 hours standing up.
The Bigsby-bar works fine even without a roller bridge, but I recommend checking tuning regularly especially if you are heavy handed on the bar. And no, it is not a floyd rose. It can do something like minor third down and half step up, but it is not for dive bombing. On the other hand, it is THE BEST tool for subtle precise trem-bar work.
Most serious complaint about this guitar is the tuners. I just don't trust the open-back machines. Luckily a decent 3+3 set of modern closed back tuners is about 30 euros.
Pros:
- Decent, good looking instrument
- Great value for money
- Great sounding pickups
Cons:
- Tuners
- No case included

What a gem!
Ymmot, 29.08.2020
I must admit; I own a great number of guitars. My main guitars on stege is of course a Fender Strat, a Fe nder Tele and a Gibson Les Paul. But sometimes you want to show of. Get attention if you like. What could be better than this beauty rond your neck? And the sound is so great! The finish is flawless. Frets, neckprofile, string hight - everything is just as perfect as my three "go-to-guitars". The only drawback is a bit oversensitive to temperature changes. I have had no problems with feedback. And the pickups are quite low sensitive so you have no problem turning up a bit of grit or mild distortion. The Bigsby works without messing with the tuning. This axe can rock!!!
