I bought quite a few 'toy' and cheap instruments that where superb sounding when considering price and intended use.
This Ocean Drum does a nice little seawave crashing against the sand of a plastic beach and shows the children the use of a fun instrument.
But it lacks the versatility to be of real use to a musician; but it is sold as a toy and it works fine as that or in a teaching environment for children.
The steelballs rolling over the plastic skin sounds ok.
The drum part is really bad, but still no worse than one would expect as it is a toy and not too expensive.
Personally I will get a proper Mehnl Seadrum, an 18 inch or so - they are cool instruments and this toy did not satisfy my appetite.
Update: 19-08/25 Changed my rating to a 2 as the total, the rest is the same. I just cant find any use or good qualities about this, even for a toy it is pretty worthless. Don't buy.

Für Kindergeburtstag i.O.
... aber nicht für einen Bandeinsatz. War halt mal ein Versuch billige Equipment einzusetzen. Kommt aber nichts rüber.
