Awesome.

I absolutely love these pickups, they are bright but warm and break up in an amazing way. I've often found LP pickups muddy but these are incredible.

I have mine in a 4 push/pull wiring scheme, Page style and I couldn't be happier. I built the guitar thinking it'd just be a nice change occasionally, but it has become my most played, torn away from my strats! These pickups are phenomenal.

I found these pickups to be very sensitive to height, it took me months to find the sweet spot for the pickup and pole height for my taste, I threw away the setup guidelines and did it by ear, even a 16th of a screw turn drastically affected the tone, especially when trying to balance the split/bucker state of each pickup. Thankfully, the pole screws are also very sensitive to change so you can balance each string individually, precisely to your taste.

The right spot for my pole screws was nowhere near the form of the arc of the radius, adjusting the bridge pups low end height as a whole affected too many frequencies, muddying them slightly, my solution was to lower the low end of the pickup and raise the poles to where I liked them, clean but beefy lows while bucking and not tinny when split, awesome growl when pushed in both states.

Ultimately your taste will be your own, I can't tell you if this pickup will be what you'd like, but I do think there are lots of ways to set this pickup up to change it's sound, if it's too warm, too bright or too tinny for your taste, that's correctable within a large range if you have the patience.

Sounded just as described
Thomas F. 165, 21.05.2013
I fitted a pair of these to a new guitar with a body made from ash and wenge and a neck from maple and wenge, it clearly states on the enclosed leaflet that these pickups can be used in both neck and bridge positions. I fitted a 3 way switch and a coil split push/pull on the tone pot, that's why I needed the Plus model to get 4 wires. With the coil split switch in it sounds like a Gibson and with the switch out it sounds like a Fender. I've had many guitars over the years but this was one of the best sounding ever on clean tones, it's almost wasted on heavy stuff but it's not a pickup for playing metal. I would say if you want beautiful ringing tones on your clean sounds and want a smooth overdriven sound then these are ideal, just right for blues and pop rock. I did notice that high notes seemed quieter than mid and low range but I've not got them fully adjusted yet, I need to raise the bridge pickup a little. There was also an ample length of wire attached.

I've had the 2 conductor type in guitars before and really liked them. I put these in my old LP style guitar along with new pots, etc, and I'm really delighted with how it sounds. I haven't installed a coil split but it's a big advantage of these pickups that I have the option to do so someday.

57 slide

Hyvin toimii, Suosittelen.
