Unrivaled for the price
Uwe249, 18.09.2014
I would like to say first that I, through the not particularly detailed, but also good reviews, long hesitated with the purchase of the Garritan Classic Pipe Organ. Several times I heard the organ of the manufacturer of the three big letters, and also the probably still the undisputed top offerer (also in the price! For a similar circumference quickly a four-digit amount), which plays however in a completely different Liega.

I wanted high-quality organ sounds of as great variety (75 stops) and appropriate sound. This collection of Pipe Organ sounds absolutely. Dream is the Faltunghall, which is given in the player with it. This is however not versatile in the parameters, rather than Set and Forget. Select the size of the reverb space by a preset and turn the amount of reverb over the Aux knob. I could not really distinguish the played sounds 100% from an original recording of a church organ, if one is tinkering a bit on the sound.

What the software can not (yet): All sounds of the organ are loaded on different channels in the player but are controlled as OMNI, which is changeable. All channels have one volume each, one pan and one FX control each, but can not be controlled individually via sill, or midi controller because of the common midi channel. In addition, sounds of the fan motor are loaded, but they can be turned off if you want.
If the channels are changed to individual MIDI channels, the MIDI channel of the input device must be changed for a changeover of a sound, which is not very functional. If you work with Logic, Finale, or similar software, that is plenty of no matter. The standalone player is only suitable for a convincing performance with different sounds.
It must be mentioned, however, that the Aria Player (which is used here - but it also works Sforzando as a single player super) very well has the functionality of Keyswitches. It could be written with some programming effort (XML in the editor) own setups. Unfortunately, there is no reasonable guide (or I have not found it), so you have to work through it yourself.

The system performance, which occurs even at low latencies, can be described as rather insignificant, so that older computers can also be used. Also the RAM consumption is very good thanks to slim samples.
The sounds are perfectly sampled (16Bit). A disadvantage of the sounds is noticeable to me. It is not possible to combine all registers of all organs, since not all registers are set to 440Hz = A. This can also be solved.

A downstream tube preamp or a good tube plug-in re-evaluates the sounds and they sound even warmer and more credible.

All in all, I am very happy with this classic pipe organ. For the features and operation I made for written reasons deductions.

You can work well with it!

As an organist, I need organ sounds useful to the house. This is undoubtedly the case with this library. The computer load is also limited.

I think you can recommend this library.
