Finhol laser kick

  • First touchless trigger for the foot
  • The foot movement between the two brackets is scanned by a redlight laser and converted into a universal trigger signal
  • approx. 7 mm above the ground
  • Can be used with or without shoes
  • Laser type and thickness are safe for the skin
  • Perfect for Finhol Auto Stomp Player (343538) or Finhol Stompbox Converter (328985)
  • Can be used with most drum modules
  • Due to the laser trigger, there are neither microphones nor unwanted double triggers
  • In contrast to all other triggers, no specific area has to be hit, only the 17 cm wide area between the straps of the trigger must be interrupted by the foot movement in order to trigger the trigger signal
  • Non tiring and ergonomic
  • Ideal for long sessions or live applications
  • Due to the laser scanning, the trigger signals are extremely uniform but not dynamic

Great product with small difficulties

Johannes733, 26.02.2015
Finhol has created a real innovation here. The sampled sounds are not exactly varied but perfect. The Cajon is not to be distinguished from my real Cajon. Unfortunately, there are small possibilities to load additional sounds or patterns via USB. Too bad.
The laser scanner has great difficulties. Here, it is absolutely necessary to rock very precisely with the foot, otherwise it will quickly lead to unsightly rhythm fluctuations. The laser beam is extremely sensitive and does not forgive any "small foot". The developers probably assumed that a rocking foot does this always precisely with the same height.
It would have been nice here, if the device always recognizes the beat so far and compensates for minor irregularities (mean value). It is simply not possible, always 100% with the foot so to rock and then also still at the correct distance from the laser, that a perfect rhythm image results. This works for 2 to 3 minutes, then small inaccuracies happen.
Another problem is the AUTO function. It is nice that the rhythm is played automatically after four played strokes. But how do you get out again? How to stop? How can you pass into another rhythm? No chance. Even if you hold your foot in the light barrier, the beat simply continues. Maybe it was just a malfunction of my device?
Conclusion: Sounds very nice, but unfortunately too few and can not be retrofitted (a shaker would be great, for example). Processing first class. However, it is not possible to play absolutely clean beats in perfect timing over long periods of time (except for the auto function, which can not be changed or stopped during the game).
For me so unfortunately not suitable. Too bad.
