surprise, surprise!
DerGitarrenmann, 09.04.2018
What can one expect from a tele for 267 euros? In principle, one is always well advised not to expect too much, so that the disappointment turns out to be moderate.
With the present Tele the impairments are only optical nature, technically the good piece - measured at price performance - amazingly valuable!
The really good workmanship includes among other things at the edge of the fretboard deburred frets, splitter-free laurel fingerboard, good (though not quite authentic) saddles, quite stable tuners, pinhole-free pots and straight, well adjustable neck.
These factors are sometimes not self-evident, even with twice as expensive Teles!

Now to the "minuses":
As already mentioned, the criticisms are merely optical. The paint is neither opaque nor transparent. It covers so weakly that the juxtaposed wood parts are recognizable by the paint, but the wood grain does not show through. The paint is actually much darker than on the advertising photos! Do not know direction, rather direction mustard margarine! At some thumb-sized dots, the paint turns greenish like copper when it's old and tarnished. On the one hand I wanted such an old-fashioned look, on the other hand the guitar is technically so good that I did not want to return it because of this - in my eyes negligible - optical impairments, so as not to run the risk, then a visually immaculate grief, but to get for it with technical defects. I have no problem living with that at all.

The fingerboard is unfamiliar at first. without curvature, straight as straight-lined as with the spirit level. Reminds of Ibanez S rather than Fender. When the first bafflement is gone, you've gotten so used to it that you think it's just that way and not the other way around.

Those who expect the twang of a custom shop tele will be disappointed. It's twangig, no question, but who wants more, must invest in exchange PU's. I myself am still considering (eg Kent Armstrong Lipstick on the neck, Joe Barden on the bridge ...), Due to the playability and quality, it is certainly worth the guitar to be upgraded; if you want to make nails with heads, so new Schaller or Sperzelmechaniken and new PU's like Joe Barden, Kinmann, barefoot or OBL, the original price of the guitar is probably on top of it - but then you have a stage-ready telephoto for about 600 euros, for which you have to lie down three times with the original or a precious copier.

The whole thing sounds much more dramatic now than it really is. You can live well with the guitar, as it is, if you do not make demands like a custom shop telephoto.
One should grant each of his guitars a charming weakness (s), that makes them only sympathetic. Impeccable hi-tech computer-laser-shoot-me-dead-high-end devices are not for me.
The guitar can be set superbly, sounds amazingly good, as soon as the underground Werssaiten are replaced by good ones (eg Optima Brian May), remains well-voice-stable and infatuated by an incomparable vintage charm. I like them anyway!

And do not forget:
We are talking about a 267-euro-guitar!
In any case, it has far exceeded my expectations!

This was a very good guitar and good materials. The new fretboard (Indian Laurel) was a positive surprise, nice feel to it, and seems a little denser / harder than rosewood. overall happy with this purchase!
