In turn: I've been looking for a start, simply because I had a long time ago and I really like the sound, I currently play only Telecasters. Because of the "more expensive" Squiers so far only good had heard and also had read, and me also the 60s series most satisfying, I have smoothly taken the Classic Vibe. The guitar came (as always) superpackaged and also (this time) healed with me.
The first clue impression out of the box was completely as I wanted that. No disappointments, no losses, no false expectations. (Octave purity and string height were already super set!) However, in the first tape test after half an hour already the first string, 5 minutes later the second ... Then I began to get stupid. Shortly I have dismantled the squier at the weekend and lo and behold, the error was also very fast to recognize. The Tremoloblock was not (cleanly) trimmed at the string conduits. The strings lay on the chips and were torn. That only two strings are cracked surprised me, since the complete block was not deburred ... The problem with the Tremoloblock was thus solved quickly with a countersink and a standing boring machine. We continued with the mechanics. At the beginning I did not notice so much that they are simply scrap metal. After I had the strings down and had examined them individually, it quickly occurred to me that they were neither oiled (very heavy and hard / scratchy), nor cleanly mounted. Moreover, I do not like these vintage tuners, where you only get the strings from above. Shortly searched, what is as an alternative and then the Kluson MLV6LN nickel ordered and mounted! Bombastic! A distinction like day and night! (If you have the same thing: The old sleeves in the head plate leave !!! The Klusen-sleeves are too big! The mechanics again fit the Squier-sleeves without problems! In the meantime I have exchanged the hammerboard against a white (Fender Pickguard SSS WH) and the pickup caps against the black (Fender Strat Pickup Cover Set BK) and reduced the Potis to 2 (1x Volume 1x Tone) disturbs. But that's my beer. There are certain differences in sound with the big sisters of Fender, but I am really satisfied with the pickups themselves! Good sound, no mud, very hum-free and balanced in the overall sound! All in all, a worthy guitar, which is only really ingenious, if you put a little hand over and a few things overworked!
