In the best tradition

When the name Fender is mentioned, a great many people immediately think of electric guitars and nothing else - but those people might be surprised to learn that the company has been making exciting and imaginative acoustic guitars since the 1960s. The Fender CD-60SCE All-Mahogany is part of both this illustrious tradition and also continues the line of affordable instruments that Fender has most notably been offering since the 1980s. The CD-60SCE is an electro-acoustic dreadnought with a solid mahogany top and a cutaway, and its clear-lacquered natural wood finish ensures an eye-catching appearance, all of which makes this a guitar with great features and the looks to match.

Sturdy and affordable

The CD-60SCE All-Mahogany takes the established dreadnought shape, but adds smoother and more rounded contours than most other manufacturers' designs. The top and neck are made from solid mahogany and the back and sides from laminated mahogany, hence the model's "All-Mahogany" designation, and the fingerboard and bridge are made from walnut, a very viable alternative to rosewood (now a protected wood species). Another interesting feature is the scale length, which at 25.3" (643mm) is a little shorter than usual and thus provides noticeably easier playability. And the stage is by no means off limits to the DC-60SCE thanks to its cutaway and built-in Fishman pickup.

A solid sound for the stage

The Fender CD-60SCE All-Mahogany will particularly delight beginners and those who are returning to the guitar, but those who mainly play electric guitar and are looking for an affordable acoustic from a known brand that sounds great on stage are also in the right place. The CD-60SCE provides a well-rounded visual package, and its looks and features are reminiscent of guitars found at much higher price points. Less experienced players and those who are used to the lower string tension of electric guitars will be glad of this guitar's shorter-than-usual scale length, and the combination of a solid mahogany top and a laminated back and sides gives players the best of both worlds: A robust construction and a dynamic sound.

About Fender

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Timeless Fender amplifier models such as the Bassman, Twin, Deluxe, and Princeton also enjoy a stellar reputation. Besides maintaining its classic product portfolio, however, the company is also constantly developing new products that make Fender a driving force in today’s music industry.

Great for live performance

An acoustic guitar that has a cutaway and a pickup, AND bears the Fender logo? Check. Some brands just have that special something, and musicians love to proudly present that on stage. This is where the CD-60SCE All-Mahogany feels right at home and can show off its virtues - striking looks, excellent playing comfort, a great sound, and the option of using amplification - to the fullest effect. Simply attach a strap (the guitar features two strap buttons as standard), connect a cable to the guitar's output jack, and plug into the PA or an acoustic amplifier, and you are ready to go. It goes without saying that you need to tune up first, but that is where the onboard Fishman tuner comes into play.

Fender CD-60SCE All mah

I got this product just because it was an acoustic guitar with a built in pickup. But after playing it at a gig or two I fell in love with it. The built in tuner is extremely convenient and the ability to adjust the bass and treble is useful aswell. I have two other guitars a fender electric and an acoustic but out of all of them I use this product the most. As it has great sounds and still sounds good with pedals and has a good long fretboard to solo on. I would recommend this guitar very stylish, sounds good all in all one of my favorite purchases from this site.

Good guitar but needed adjustments. Action, nut, saddle and some frets. Now it’s playing great and sounds good. Value for the money.
