Telly at its finest!

TomWheelfire, 17.08.2014
I had some Telecaster models in the last years in the hand. This is by far the most balanced sound!
Clean a bang, distorted a barker. The PickUps are very well done and I like it really well.
The guitar is very nice and super clean processed, everything perfectly. First-class painting with a great look.
The sound is the absolute fire, just what I imagined! Right rocky and beautiful "Telly-Like" twangig. Overall very balanced and round. Full bass, crisp highs.
I could still swarm up here for hours on end, but still play on the baby.
Conclusion:
Fender has succeeded with the American Vintage 58 Telly a world-class instrument.
The accessories are lush and the case a sensation.

I can recommend this guitar without any restrictions!

Supplement:
Now after some rehearsals and gigs, I unfortunately have to say that the lacquer on the neck, especially after a long play at a time, is somehow tacky. I even have the feeling that the surface is "soft" and thereby becomes really uncomfortable. The fact is, that the paint is still a solvent, you can smell.
I finally decided to work the neck with a sanding pad to make the surface matt. This works so far very well and thus I do not draw stars.
I totally understand synonymous but not why necks are painted at all high gloss !? Somehow it's slowing down!

Both 50s and 60s sound

Johannes R. 630, 30.09.2015
Actually there is not the Tele-Sound. There are a lot more two different tele sounds: there is the middle, rocky-twisty 50 sound, for which the 52er Tele is famous. On the other hand, there is the sound of the 60s, which is far more discreet, more articulate and clearer, and today - in addition to the classic tele-music direction Country - is mainly found in indie rock.
The 58er telephoto actually creates both of these sounds, so that it is not a "lazy compromise", as might be feared at first. With her bridge-pickup, the telephoto goes clear in the direction of the 50s. This is very strong and is not at all shrill. In the middle position and on the neck, however, the 58er sounds like a 60er-tele, very fine and clear with beautiful, soft heights. Only if you are looking for fat bass, you will not find this guitar - but who is looking for it, will hardly buy a tele ... So there is nothing to complain about on this guitar.
Also the processing is generally quite okay - but with two restrictions: On the one hand, the guitar (anyway my copy) tends to be a little buzzing in the pressure in the first frets of the h-string. This is partially due to the strongly curved fingerboard (vintage), which leads to the fact that the distance between the string and the fretboard is very different for the individual strings. One can do this by a readjustment of the bridge relatively well in the handle by the rounding of the handleboard with the bridge "traces". Do not worry about initially extremely extreme settings! Nevertheless, the guitar is not really "snare-free" afterwards, which is however not to be heard.
What has already bothered me a bit - and therefore there is also the deduction in the category "processing" - is the fact that my guitar already after about one year several paint strippers gotten, although I have always well maintained and protected. I can not really explain ... Speaks in any case not for the paint quality at Fender!

In spite of all this, I have to say that the 58er-Tele with its AWB is a true beauty, which thanks to the very well proportioned D-shape neck can be wonderfully played. It sounds balanced and is (versatile for a tele) extremely versatile. I would buy them again.
