The new witches broom .........

foreverchris, 05.12.2017
In advance - this Flying V is definitely not a metal board!
If you are looking for it, you should look at the sisters of the "Ur-Flying V" from more recent years of construction!

After some research I have to "complete"? my blues sound spectrum for this Korina Flying V decided. The? Modern? V? S did not suit me in terms of sound rather in the hard rock / metal area, but since the Korina Flying V is equipped with the same pickups as my Epiphone 335 copy? The Dot? and I had listened to some sound samples on the Internet, I just dared try.

Well packed, delivered by Thomann used to fast, the baby then arrived at.
The first thing that struck me was how incredibly easy this guitar is! The? Dot? brings much more on the scales and my custom shop Paula I do not even want to take in the comparison.
After a short check it was clear that I had to lend a hand first before a proper test. Fortunately, the processing defects listed in some other reviews on this guitar are not visible on my copy. I'm assuming that even in far-off China, people who sometimes have bad days work. My V has definitely been produced on a good day. Cleanly painted, Potis turn gently and regulate from 0-10 what they should, the built tuners run great, toggle switch well (except for the ugly yellow of the cap!) And the cable connection is stuck! The neck set well and the frets are used very clean? there is nothing over there! And at first glance, the guitar only seems to consist of two body parts. The neck is a bit stronger than the "The Dot", which suits me very much, as I love the Neck profile of my 58er Reissue Paula! The transition neck / body perfectly. Only the plastic point inlays of the fingerboard look cheap on closer inspection.

So far so good.

When stringing the guitar, it was shortly before closing time! Grotten bad string position, on 12.Bund you could almost push the index finger between fret and string.
Impossible here to play reasonably in the high positions. Since the strings wound up by the factory were probably the cheapest I decided to do the turnaround: down the strings, the rosewood fingerboard (which feels very good, by the way), a massage with lemon oil, my favorite strings on it and adjusted string position and intonation. I'm curious how the extreme? Umlenkungen? the strings from the carcass lead to the bridge and also from the saddle to the tuners in the future affect the durability of the strings!
Already? Dry? This Korina V sounds very resonant and that has been confirmed on the amp! The Epiphone Classic humbuckers have me in the? The Dot? Surprised and in the V, they clearly convey the middle-weighted character of this design. No slush even at high degrees of distortion. But that's not the "playing field" either? this variant of the Flying V? rather blues and blues rock with subtle overdrive and that makes the part a very good figure. Therefore, an exchange of PU's probably will not be necessary. After bringing the pickups a bit closer to the strings, there was a decent output as well. The neck is great and I'm really surprised how good this guitar is for the relatively low price. But also my Epiphone? The Dot? is already great processed and gives me a lot of pleasure,
The top-heaviness of the V can be handled well with a non-slip strap and even when sitting, I get along great with the guitar? maybe it will help me that from the beginning of my "guitar career" I am laying the guitar on the left thigh very unconventionally. Never thought about it, but it suits me.

Conclusion: Great vintage guitar with bluesy sound? my new? witches broom? definitely stays in the collection!
Deductions for the miserable attitude? but since the guitar can not do anything for- An absolute beginner should be an "advanced"? consult ? perfectly set, the Epiphone Korina Flying V is a real buy recommendation!

Epiphone Flying V - Quality Contrasound - Ambivalent

iBoth, 16.01.2017
A long odyssey seems to go through, which lasts for a long time ...
The Thomann service has once again proven to be top, but the manufactured Korina Flying V's are no longer comparable to the previous Epiphone instruments, there every guitarist should look closely and for beginners, I can only recommend an experienced friend.
Only the third delivery was accepted, but the processing quality is already getting used to. But we come to the most important - sound and playability - there only grins, this attack and direct response brings me only one V. And the vibes reach into the final ends of the wings, no mud, just a madness sound I do not want to miss any more. The Korinah (Limba) is really light and transmits the vibrations of the finest.
Whoever wants it is right there. Too bad, if Epiphone had a slightly better quality test, one could recommend this V everyone.
