Electro Harmonix Octave Multiplexer

Octave Pedal

The EH Octave Multiplexer provides that rich sound that arises when the signal is mixed one octave lower. By means of two "smoothing filters" the octave sound can be perfectly adapted. The outcome is a powerful sound, even when the player may look somewhat grim!

Big Sounding Bass Octave Pedal
NickA, 19.11.2015
I am using this pedal with Hofner Violin Bass through an Orange Terror Bass Combo. Combined with other effects, it gives a huge heavy sound to your bass, which I can see fitting with some heavy rock fanatics. Personally I am using it to fatten up a fuzz effect (Big Muff Nano), to enhance the bottom end which can be lost with some effects for bass.

It's quite a large pedal, so will take up a fair bit of space in a pedal board, especially if you are like me and used to the Boss Stompoxes. I have it mounted on a Pedal Train Nano and it just fits.

Quality wise - the pedal feels like it will last, being made of metal, the on / off switch feels nice and solid.

Service as usual from Thomann was first class, quick delivery and awesome tracking information.

EHX Octave Multiplexer
24.06.2015
This is a fun pedal and is pretty good value for money. If you are looking for a more purposeful octave pedal i would say maybe invest in something better, this is quite basic but is still good fun and isn't that expensive. You can get some nice Dead Weather type sounds with a distortion after it. It can be very glitchy at times and you cant really play chords using this pedal, its a monophonic pedal it is only for single notes, you can get some pretty rad tones for solo's with this, adds a nice beefy bass one octave below the note you play. So if you are looking for an octave pedal on a budget this is fairly good, but a boss OC-3 or a EHX POG might be of better use.
