A great tube amp, powerful and flexible tones
Herbert Planter, 25.10.2019
After owning this amp for about 8 months and using it for both live, jamming and in the home recording studio, I rate this as a great little tube amp for both applications and great value for money. I play a variety of music on it from prog rock to heavy stoner doom metal and whatever in between and it handles them all fine once you know how the amp likes to be run, or not ran accordingly. - Remember, a tube amp is an instrument!

THE PROS:
1. The tweaker is surprisingly loud, even over some more powerful amps, it does like to be really cranked like an old school tube amp but comes most alive at pretty high volumes but can still sound good at lower levels too, overall it has great sound, no fizz, which makes me happy.

2. Massive tone flexibility. It can really cut through a mix or blend in as desired with a lot of flexibility, which we found especially useful layering guitars in the home studio environment or to just really sit the amp in your favorite tonal sweet spot for different styles.

3. It's also a beautiful looking amp that looks like it cost twice what you would expect to pay for something so nice!

4. Affordable, a great sounding and looking amp for the money.

5. Being to run two cabinets with the extension socket is AWESOME. Enough said!

THE CONS:
1. Flexible but simple. Both a pro and a con here, although the Tweaker has many tonal options and some cool features (cabinet extension socket!) it is otherwise a pretty bare-bones old school style tube amp with no frills. I like the simplicity but I'm also a lover of some more modern features. For example: There is no power attenuation, meaning this is a loud tube amp, great, but not really a bedroom amp! What you would expect really. It also has no direct out. You can work around these with something simple like a Two Notes Captor, but it would be nice to have them built in. It also has no built in reverb, but that's not a big deal.

2. Noisey Fan. Unfortunately mine did come with a slightly noisey fan, a somewhat common issue in some Tweakers I found out, not that bad but you can hear it running softly when everything is quiet. It wasn't bad enough to bother dealing with and I don't really notice it 90% of the time.

In all, a great sounding, beautiful looking and flexible amp with some features but lacking in certain others. Great for the money, loud as hell and takes pedals well. I would recommend this for live use no worries, it's a great recording amp (we mic up), just be aware of what you want/need in terms of features. Only loses a star due to lack of some features, but a great amp.
