I have to say that I was always a lover of amplifiers in head format of less than 50w, I always found them more useful than the large 50w and 100w. The confirmation of this fact came from the hand of this amplifier.

Designed by engineer Bruce Egnater, famous for its custom amplifiers, this small 20 watt pure valve offers great possibilities.

The physical appearance is impeccable, it gives an air to the old custom amplifiers of the '70s. It looks robust, within the robust that can be a valve amplifier, and perhaps it would be better to have a better hold, because the handle that has is a little weak. Anyway it comes with a padded case ideal for transport to the rehearsal room and in concerts if we are careful, as we can practically fit in the seat under the car.

The control of the same is very simple. It has a power control to regulate from 1w for home to 20w if we want to have more profit margin. Three-band EQ control, gain and master. It also has a roulette to switch between 6V6 or EL84, the two types of valves that owns this ampli, being one with a darker sound, and the other, more marshall type. It also has a cousin switch to control the bright control, which will give us an extra medium and treble for use in clean sounds (with a guitar slightly dark tonally) and tight control, which will save our lives when we use high distortions, A bass trimmer that prevents the typical soundball from occurring when we increase the gain.

The amp is very versatile and can have a lot of profit for hard rock styles. Perhaps for harder sounds we are a bit short, it must be said that it is designed for a sound like Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Guns n roses, but not harder. With a pedal the thing would change. The power gives to spare, even with the position in 1w we are left over for home. Responds very well with the use of other pedals and has a lot of dynamics. It's an amp that falls in love once you've heard it.

Switching on the part and getting started may not be so satisfying at first. One has to sit down for a while, so that the sound results correspond to their own ideas. At first I was amazed how bold at a time a stratocaster sounds.
At first, I tested the crunch sounds. The first time with the sample, of course, I needed a low volume (volume) and adjusted the one channel so that he did not drag with a moderate game. The volume was controlled by the guitar's volume potentiometer. WOW! That was clean until cream. The little one did his job as well as my big one. Also played very clean, he convinces on the whole line, especially when the TubeMix is ??rotated in the direction of 6V6. The Cleansound is however not always loud enough to get through the band.

The amp reacts very sensitively to the playing style.
I had read something from Bedroom Amp, because it has a power reduction down to one watt. But with a little more gain it gets loud quickly (a watts is damn much with tube amplifiers). And the Rebel does not sound as good as with Gain with very low settings, which may be because a loudspeaker does not sound as soft as if it sounds loud. A certain level must already be. I especially like the sound when the watt regulator is set to 12:00, master is set to 15:00 and the volume is controlled by the gain control
Is nothing for the living room. Rather for the stage and exercise room. A good partner.
