i cant fault these picks, they let me pick more accurately which is a must for lead playing but yet there not unsuited for heavy rhythm either (although when the picks are unused there is a scraping noise of the pick scratching the string winding but after an hour or so the noise goes away as the sides get smooth.) these picks do wear away slowly, but so does any pick, but when these start the wear the point becomes flat so you need to scratch it on the carpet or on your trousers so the point becomes sharp again and when i mean sharp i mean SHARP. there good for fast picking, ultimate riffige, dem arpeggio sweeps and everything in between, i have not tried thicker variants of this pick but then i wouldn't want to, as im stuck with .73 for life, and by the look of things, if you buy 72 of these your going to be stuck with them for life too. i would only go back to regular shape picks if i tried like the thing that Chris broderick has like the weird clip that goes round his thumb. but other than that i would never go back to regular tortex, i even found an old 1 mm tortex which was new and i thought i looked really weird but im sure that the sharp picks will eventually grind down to the regular shape at which point you can just reach in the bag and grab another 1 out of 72!
