Not bad but...

I've had those for about 4 months now and my D string is dying fast, it stopped producing sound on some frets and this is not a problem coming from my bass guitar...
Good strings at first but not built to last.

Amazing strings that the crowd love!

I love these strings. Cobine with a blacklight on stage for lots of admiring comments and to ensure your band is always remembered.
They sound like good, high-quality roundwounds but sadly have the usual roundwound cons of a fairly short self-life.

Showcase Saiten mit okay Sound

Ich benutze diese Saiten bei Konzerten, wo es wichtig ist, dass das Publikum unterhalten wird (keine Hintergrund Live-Band). Gespannt sind sie auf einem Musicman Stingray.

Sound - Wegen der dicken Beschichtung der Saiten klingen sie dumpfer und leiser als "normale" Saiten. Als Standardsaiten benutze ich verschiedene Stärken der D'Addario Flex Steel Serie - je nachdem, wie mir gerade ist. Da ich Funk spiele, slappe ich sehr oft bzw. benutze oft die höheren Lagen auf dem Griffbrett, welche mit den Flex Steels gut zur Geltung kommen. Mit den Neon Strings von DR sind diese aber weniger "twangy" und hören sich auch nicht super an. Vom Gefühl her finde ich sie allerdings sehr gut resp. ich empfinde kaum einen Unterschied zwischen diesen Neonsaiten und herkömmlichen Saiten, sowohl mit der linken als auch mit der rechten Hand mit Fingerpicking.
Es ist allerdings nicht so, dass sie so dumpf und leise klingen, dass man sie kaum gebrauchen kann. Ich habe eigentlich Saiten erwartet, die sich wie zwei Jahre alte Saiten anhören, allerdings haben sie trotz ihrer Dumpfheit einen hellen Klang.

Verarbeitung - Da ich ausschliesslich mit den Fingern spiele, nutze ich die Saiten auch nicht wirklich sehr ab. Was mir allerdings aufgefallen ist: Bei den Neonsaiten für die Gitarre löst sich die Farbe bei den Bünden ab, hier bei den Basssaiten allerdings nicht. Die Farbe bleibt auch nach grosser und starker Reibung bei den Bünden und der Brücke da, nichts löst sich ab.

Farben - Die Farben sind nicht nur unter UV-Licht schön, auch bei Tageslicht stechen sie förmlich heraus. Ich habe diese Saiten bei 4 Auftritten schon verwendet und bei jedem Auftritt kam immer ein Kommentar à la "Das sieht ja wunderschön aus!"

Alles in allem bin ich zufrieden mit diesen Saiten. Die Verarbeitung ist super und ich sehe keine Makel und die Farben sind wunderschön anzuschauen, einzig der Sound leidet ein wenig unter der Beschichtung.
Wer aber wirklich darauf aus ist, das Publikum zu begeistern und alle Augen auf sich zu ziehen, der ist mit diesen Saiten bestens bedient.

Kleine Bemerkung noch: Kombiniert mit weissen Handschuhen, die für Gitarre spielen gemacht sind, ergibt das einen unglaublich schönen Effekt, da man super sieht, wie die Hand über den Bass gleitet.

Trop fragiles

J'avais acheté ces cordes dans une optique ludique (pour faire correspondre les couleurs avec celles d'un jeu très connu et pouvoir jouer avec des amis qui ne sont pas musiciens), et bien que je ne cherchais pas une qualité de son incroyable, j'ai été agréablement surpris. Le son est très clair, plutot brillant, mais les basses restent rondes et présentes. Le revêtement donne un côté assez agréable au toucher. D'un point de vue esthétique, malgré mes aprioris, je dois avouer que l'effet une fois les cordes montées est plutôt agréable et permet de se concentrer sans difficultés sur ce qu'on joue - un très bon point pour les débutants.
Les seuls problèmes sont au niveau de la qualité de fabrication. Tout d'abord, au fil des heures, le revêtement des cordes s'effrite de lui même, couvrant petit à petit votre basse, vos micros et vos doigts de minuscules paillettes multicolores. De plus, la corde orange n'a pas semblé être assez résistante pour encaisser plusieurs mois de slap intensif et a donc tout simplement décidé de casser sans crier gare.

Pour résumer, je pense que ces cordes ne sont vraiment intéressantes que pour ceux qui jouent à RS ou pour les débutants voulant apprendre plus vite, leur qualité de son n'ayant rien d'unique bien qu'étant très correcte.
