After my first 7-string with Original Floyd Rose when changing the strings or the "just umstimmen" has made me mad and I live on a cracked string would be stuck first, I was looking for a backup. This one has become it.

For the budget of a maximum of 1.000¤ I had the following criteria:

- Fast neck, without "Zahnstochergefühl" (in the optimal case in the deep area a little thicker, above much thinner)
- Good tuning and adjustable
- No Floyd Rose
- voice-stable
- Reasonable pickups (Especially when it comes to the low A, arises with cheap pickups often slush)
- Optics should not be too extreme

After about 10 guitars, the San Dimas 2-7 2H was my winner. The majority of the competition loses sound in the field of mud. The built-in Seymour Duncans make for me personally a really good sound, which can do more than just metal with the splitting function. Unfortunately, when testing all non-name pickups or manufacturer's own pickups have disappointed me.

When I started playing, I fell in love with my neck. Here I have found just the right combination and "feeling". But that is always a matter of taste. The guitar was great set by the factory. The wound up strings were a bit too loose for me. Ultimately, I chose Drop A for a 9-46 string set with an additional 64 string for the low A. Due to the accessible truss rod behind the 24th fret, a subsequent adjustment of the octave purity is done quickly.

At the processing I have not discovered any defects. The look is simple. I like it. If you want to attract attention with your guitar, you have to look elsewhere. As you play, the fingerboard initially discolors your fingers. After the first fingerboard cleaning, or care, but has done.

In fact, the Charvel was the only guitar in the price range that met all of my criteria. Otherwise, I would have had to raise my budget by 200-300 euros for something like that. In other words: value for money is great!

After playing the guitar extensively at home and in the rehearsal room, I prefer to play them live on my "main guitar", as long as I do not need Floyd Rose. Incidentally, the first guitar (Schecter Jeff Loomis Signature of 2008) has an original price of around 1,100 €.

Charvel NAZGUL 7 strings
JASUN DUKE, 02.02.2018
As usual with THOMANN, fast delivery and follow-up at the top. Packaged properly, no worries ...
Although I was a little surprised by the shade of gray lighter than the picture (we see the whitish shades of Ash), the appearance is superb, a little raw ...
Once the guitar in hand, we realize that the width of the handle is not going to be a problem ... Studied for, and even if I have big hands, it is easy to play. I'm not very used to the FENDER sleeves because I usually play on GIBSON ... but then I did it in no time ...
I had to adjust a little the height of the strings because I like them near the handle and they frizz a little ...
And then there's the Nazgul and the Sentinent ... I'm a fan of Seymour Duncan, so even though I'm not very objective, they have a terrible sound. The bass do not eat the treble, the saturation (because they are METAL typed anyway), is clean, precise attack and with a level of output almost equivalent to a more impersonal EMG for my taste ...
Light and rather well balanced, it is very comfortable ...
No regrets on the purchase! a pearl at this price!
