Caution

Musiconaute, 13.11.2017
I was looking for a resolutely metal-oriented model and following the many reviews I read, I decided to give this Ghost Fret a chance. Why I am not satisfied:

- The paint is disgusting, the pores of the wood are not clogged and it is full of asperities. Also it overflows a little on the places where it should not be there (junction sleeve / body for example).

- The strap locks are quite cheap, on my model one is particularly poorly clipped, moreover, located on the back of the guitar, it tends to return to the belly when playing seated and moreover it unscrews.

- So ok, I sometimes tend to play hard enough, but the Mi strings get stuck regularly under the neck pickup.

- There are several traces of planes. It's not catastrophic, but it's a little disgusting anyway.

- The guitar is unbalanced while standing.

- The jack output is easily unscrewed.

- The mechanics are not very precise.

- My luthier had to file the bridges which already showed signs of wear (after only a few weeks !!).

- Access to acute is not optimal (try a sweeping plan in the last boxes, galley).

- The place provided for the strap locks in the case is not in the right place and does not correspond to the place where the strap lock is located on the guitar (lol).

- UNSTABLE! Even after several weeks, the guitar still detunes too quickly.

So let's be fair, because not everything is bad:

-At the level of the handle, it is very pleasant to play, nothing to complain about.

-The sound is good enough.

Far from being unplayable, nor even bad, I nevertheless think that it is a lot of details that are sloppy for a guitar whose price has increased by 40% (1120 euros today) and that the youtubers "pro" do not stop to praise. Caution.

Perfect for any metal fan

Alex Leitner, 17.12.2017
I wanted to grow something longer in the form of an explorer. In my selection at that time were the Schecter E-1 Custom, the Gibson Explorer 2016, the ESP LTD Snakebyte and this model. I bought the Chapman ML-1 mahogany last year and was thrilled by it. Therefore, I decided again for a guitar by Chapman Guitars.

The first impression:
The guitar comes in a solid and well-made case. Also included is a strap-lock system and a microfibre cloth for cleaning. The height of the pages is already preset and everything looks pretty high quality. Unfortunately, the first time the strings hit the strings, the high E string came loose as the locking screw of the locking tuner was not tightened enough.

features:
The features are actually quite good. Both the switch and the knobs for volume and sound are easily accessible while playing, yet they are not in the way. The locking tuners are a nice feature and keep the guitar in a great mood. Due to the neck-through construction, the playability of the upper frets is quite good. Why I'm still not really satisfied with the features is because the front bracket for the belt is not attached as shown, but on the back of the guitar. As a result, this tilts something while playing something. This bothers me a lot because that was an exclusion criterion for me.

sound:
Both the clean and the distorted, the sound is just great. Even without regulating with the EQ, the balance between the highs and lows is well balanced. Especially with distortion, they make a lot and are in my opinion a must for anyone who likes to play metal. These pickups have convinced me so much that I will install them as soon as they are available in my ML-1.

Processing:
The matte finish works great and makes the guitar really comfortable to play. Everything works as it should. The corners of the frets are beautifully rounded and have no sharp edges.

Conclusion:
In summary, I am very happy with the guitar. The sound and workmanship are impeccable. The only thing that bothers me is that the strap holder is not attached as shown. Therefore total only 4/5
