The build quality is like any other Behringer pedal of this range however and that means plastic all over with wonky connectors. The knobs are ok though. But for a approx. $20 pedal, it's no surprise, nor does it matter in this case because most people will have it on all the time without stomping on it too much (as a boost).
If you never tried a Tube screamer as a boost, this is the best one to get to see if you like/need a tube screamer in your life. It's affordable and the sound is (at least to me) indistinguishable from the real thing. Later, you might want to upgrade to a real one in case you need a sturdier pedal, but for a pedal that stays on and isn't stomped on, this one will last a while too!
It's amazing value for the price!

But the thing still works. For the money I paid for it years ago, I've gotten a ton of value back.
Its pots do feel wonky and it's sometimes hard to get the tone you are looking for out of it. Stepping on the pedal will sometimes turn it on and off as the button below it is not super-reliable. Replacing the battery is always an annoyance due to how the thing is put together — you need to push a spring mechanism in from both ends, then do the same when putting it back together.
I've mainly been using it as a booster for my distortion channels, and it served its purpose just fine for that.
In fact, it still does — it's hooked to my bedroom amp right now.

Just by reading other reviews I was expecting a cheap enclosure but not so cheap. There is no feedback when pressing the stomp switch.
Wouldnt move this pedal out of the house.
Hey Behringer
I dont think that your customers would mind paying 1-2 USD more for a better enclosure.

So I use this mostly to drive a dirty amp. I have played with other musicians and it makes my guitar stand out in the mix for solos and such.
It makes my amp shine in clean too.
As a clean boost it will still make your guitar a bit more prominent due to its mid-hump.
It has a stiff input jack socket. Take care of this pedal and it'll treat you well.
My overall rating takes into account the price whereas the others are more objective.
A con is I am sure this is actually lower than unity volume with level set to maximum.

On the other hand, this is an very versatile tube screamer clone that sound so much more expensive then it is. I use it mainly for stacking but it is more than good enough to be used on its own. You could even use it as a boost if you turn the gain all the way down. In that way, it might even be worth having more then once on your pedal board...

In terms of gigging this pedal, I'm not sure I would risk it if I was actually using the switch - however, if you're using a loop switcher (like a Boss MS3 or the Harley Benton StompControl), you won't need to worry about this. To be honest it may not even be an issue, just perception wise at least a metal enclosure should be more reliable?
I've got/had many other tubescreamers and while many have their quirks and added features, the main core sound remains pretty consistent, so if you're looking to dip your toe in the Tubescreamer world, or are just looking for a pedal that can give you that extra bit of drive and mid boost, the TO800 is a great choice, especially at this price point!

The only downside is the plastic casing feels like it wont last forever but it doesn't seem difficult to re-case.
Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for the classic TS sound and doesn't want to spend the earth

But there is not difference from the more expensive tube screamer pedals - Sounds absolutely great.
The casing is a bit fragile though.

What it isn?t missing is the tone of another green pedal has! This really is as close as it gets to another pedal without calling itself the same name!
Want to boost your signal? Done! Want to drive the amp a bit harder? Done! Want to really gun your amp? Done!
This does everything the rather more expensive pedal does for a fraction of the price and, really, I cannot tell much tonal difference!

That aside, it sounds great. It's pretty much identical to a tubescreamer. I use it infront of a 6505 as a boost and it performs it's job of tightening up the low end and adding saturation perfectly. Considering it costs a small fraction of what you would pay for the tubescreamer it's modeled on it really is a bargain.

For me, being a producer and session percussionist occasionally laying down a guitar line in a production, buying into the Behringer stomp box range makes a lot of sense both soundwise and when considering the cost/benefit aspects of it.
Great stuff cheap!!

The build quality is acceptable, especialy for home use
All controls work as expected and don't need any explanation
I find a bit inconvenient to replace the battery
For 24 euro it's an excellent tube screamer

Ofcourse the build quality could be better, it's plastic, but it's cheap and the sound is great.
