Ashdown Studio 12
Gaz66, 24.05.2020
Great little amp and very lightweight.
Plenty loud enough for home, studio recording, rehearsal or small gigs.
Decent EQ setting but I believe the shape eq is on until the button is pressed in to defeat it. The drive control sounds more like a distortion pedal than valve emulation and is so extreme it dominates the sound when mixed in. It takes effect almost immediately and is not subtle. That aside the amp is a great buy and reasonably priced.

Nice, lightweight amp
Expat Tom, 09.06.2020
Super little amp. Got it mainly for band practice and it does a great job. Havnt tried it at a gig yet, but im sure it'll work great on its own in smaller venues. If you for some reason want to bring your 100W amp to a larger venue you will be glad that it has DI (Balanced XLR).

It weighs very little. Thomanns page says 10.3kg and the Ashdown papers it comes with says 11.9kg. Really nice plus.

When i first got it, it sounded really wierd and distorted. Turned out to be the knob labeled 'Drive'. The manual says this knob controls the amount of "tube emulated overdrive". Perhaps im not getting it, perhaps some people like that sound, but once 'Drive' was turned off the sound was (to my ears) great. Having a feature and not using it will never hurt i guess and the 5 band EQ goes a long way to customize and make it your sound.
