The author about the content: "The first volume of my school is suitable for the absolute beginner, because I start from scratch. The volume begins with a short introduction to the psychology of learning, because the more you know about the processes in the brain, the better you can organize and arrange your practice time. Then the techniques of grabbing and striking are explained and in small steps the reading of notes is learned. I have deliberately avoided tablatures, because in my opinion they are as suitable for notating music as a walking stick for hurdling. In addition, learning to read music is actually a piece of cake. Lesson 1 of the Internet Lessons also deals with this topic. In the further course of the book, I will place special emphasis on rhythmic basics, as these are the most important thing for any bass player. You can play whatever you want, if it doesn't groove you are a bad bass player!

- By Tom Bornemann, Vol.1
- For fun practicing, there are two CD's to the book: On the first CD, almost all examples in the book are briefly played, so that you can check yourself out
- But much more interesting is CD2, because it contains 16 Playbacks which were recorded with full band (drums, keyboards, guitar) and which should allow you to practice in a practical way.
