Aco-Shop Brass Mysteries
Brass Technical LiteratureThe most recent publication in the literature for brass instruments comes from the pen of André Carol (andrecarol.de), a trumpeter who is at home in all musical genres and has worked internationally with many well-known artists.
If one asks the author, one will soon find that it is is by no means another method to make some fast money and ultimately confuse all players and readers. André Carol's method is the absolute opposite. He talks about his own experience and shows that he has also tried almost everything, explaining the quintessence of the various methods (TCE, BE etc.).
The author is surprisingly brief and understands how to present dry and theoretical content in an extremely easy-to-understand and entertaining way - and all this without ever raising the index finger! Also helpful are the many funny pictures with which he illustrates the work and emphasises his thesis: 'Do not take the playing of the instrument and yourself too seriously. Don't overthink while playing, but live your musicality."
At the end of the day, we can say that with BRASS MYSTERIES, a German-language book that encourages all those developing in the course of their brass-blowing life has made it on to the market for the first time. In addition to a lot of courage and humour, the book offers even more, namely, solutions - whereby each reader can decide for himself and which of the tips he would like to try. The author's homepage is also recommended, where he has also edited some excerpts of the book with audio examples. BRASS MYSTERIES is already being discussed in the trumpet forum, where a participant wrote: "Anyone who is expecting something unexpected before will be disappointed! André Carol does not see himself as a trumpet hero ("guru") but wants to cheer up the bookish people who spend too much time thinking.
