Assertive solo sound
I tried this djembe before buying it in Burgebrach and compared it with some other djembes. It was on the one hand the feeling of playing, the "response" of the skin on the hands, which convinced me, and on the other hand also the sound: light and dry, not so singing in harmony as the Djemben Thomann NN32 or African Percussion Kambala. But you can only decide in a direct comparison. In this Djembengröße she had the best sound for me, even an even more expensive Kambala Solo Djembe sounded no better for me.
The Djembe has a little more (28) tension cords round than usual (23, as for example with a Thomann NN32), which can be expected however with a "Master Class" execution. However, the reserve line for re-tensioning for my taste in this price class should be somewhat longer, therefore, in processing a star print.
Ex-factory, the fur is already stretched quite tolerably well, a demanding player will surely still re-tension it.
The fur is not so far over the edge drawn as with the Kambala djemben or even a Thomann NN32, but still sufficiently far that one can play comfortably, without auf the iron ring.
Very practical: the braided handle.
The wood is cleanly processed and without flaws.
I have not regretted the purchase so far and would buy this djembe again.
