Surprisingly good pedal
Scott Zsalt, 21.08.2017
I didn't have the greatest hopes for this pedal considering the price but it's turned out to be surprisingly good, at least when you consider just how little it costs.

Distortions/Overdrives:
I'll cover this first as it's where you're most likely to be disappointed.
If you are expecting the drive effects to sound exactly like the pedals they're modelling then you're going to be less than impressed. They simply don't sound close enough to be convincing. However if you take the pedal modelled as a guideline to what kind of drive sound you're getting then maybe not. The effect that copies the Big Muff, for example, doesn't really do that pedal justice but as a fuzz on its own merits it is pretty good.
This is pretty much the case for all the drive/fuzz/dist effects here: they're good in their own right but not as copies.

Mods/delays: The modulation effects are much better. Again, not all of them are as accurate as you might hope but they are much closer than those drives and they are very usable and setting the parameters is quite intuitive.
The delays in particular are pretty awesome and outshine the delay effects on my amp.
The particle effect on its own makes this pedal worth it as there's no other way to get this effect for such a low price.

Dynamic/Filter: And now we come to what this pedal does really well, imho. The noise gate/comps etc are astounding. I can honestly imagine not using my standalone noise gate ever again! And whilst I can't yet see a use for the Moog filter, it really is brilliant.
The wah sounds are a bit of a let down in comparison to as real decent wah but they are pretty good for a multifx and with a bit of a tighten the expression pedal becomes pretty good and despite the flimsy feel it's very usable.

Presets: The presets are not too bad and I can see myself keeping a chunk of them, but they tend to need a bit of tweaking before they're really good. I tried overwriting one that I'll never use with my own patch to see how easy it was and it's a doddle.

Build: This is not a rugged pedal. Clunk down too hard on it with your size 13 boots too many times and it will break. It's plastic and you can tell.
However, providing you keep this in mind and exercise some care ans restraint when using the unit I think it should last.

Ease of use: The pedal is very easy to use. It takes some getting used to before it's second nature but the instructions are clear and there are plenty of instructional vids and forum posts on the web should you get stuck.

Thomann service: My first unit was faulty. Thomann replaced this with no fuss and they did so quickly. As usual the product was delivered quickly and was adequately packaged.

Overall: If you need and all in one pedal for home use then this is ideal. Not every sound is brilliant but they're all acceptable and some are amazing. Putting patches together is very easy and the expression pedal works very well indeed once you get the torque adjusted for your preference.
It probably won't take too much of a beating though and I would advise against using on stage unless your area is well lit and you are sure that you can keep big clumsy feet away.
There are probably better multifx pedals out there but if you're after something versatile and fun that won't make you wish you'd spent the money on another guitar then this is likely to be a good purchase.

How much fun can you buy for 55,- Euro?
Jan @ Thomann, 04.11.2019
I use a Boss gt-6 or Roland Gr-55 for live gigs, but wanted something small for small occasions, where I just want to add some reverb, delay and chorus to my sound, without having to carry a huge pedalboard. And This little Zoom is really perfect for that.
But it has so much nore under the hood... and exploring it gave me hours and hours of fun. So I got interested to look a bit deeper into it, and I found many useful and inspiring patches.
But the patches are randomly programmed, so I wanted to create some order in it, and divided it in 5 categories : Clean Rhythm, Crunch Rhythm, Clean Solo, Distorted (driven) Solo and Special.
And to free up some workspace I had to sacrifice some patches (the ones I found the least usable).
Reorganising the patches into these categories is quite time consuming and requires a bit of brain-power, cause you can only save and swap patches, and all has to be done on the little screen (not via computer), so it's good to think ahead of how you want to do it. But it's worth it, because it becomes easy to compare the different available patches within the same category.
I used some of the patches as a starting point to create my own sound. Very easy to do.

So here are my plus points :
- many good and usable preprogrammed patches, some of them really inspiring
- many good sounding effects
- easy to use (intuitive)
- small and light weight, easy to carry
- built in tuner
- built in drum machine has lots of good usable patterns, sounding good
- built in looper, good for practising
- I love the look of it. Seems to come straight from an 80's Star Trek episode.
- So inexpensive!
- Great delivery by Thomann

And here are my minus points :
- all preprogrammed patches can be overwritten, so be careful not to overwrite what you may want to keep, or you have to go back to factory settings.
- only 2 switches (up/down) to change patch. This makes it very limited for live performance where I usually like to have at least 4 patches available straight under my foot.
- when adding a pedal effect to the effectchain (e.g. wah), you cannot save the pedal setting when saving the patch (e.g. wah off). It is always ON. So each time you activate the patch, the wah will be ON, and I would like to have it OFF at that time.
- the pedal switch could not be activated with the pedal, due to a design mistake, so I had to glue a bit of felt on the back of the pedal so that it would reach the switch.
- small and low resolution screen. Reminds me of 8-bit games like pacman. It has its charm, but is a bit straining for the eyes (specially when you're not 18 anymore)
- drum patches are not numbered, so you have to remember them by name. Makes it also a bit harder to quickly find a certain pattern.
- no software to arrange and backup patches
- patches are randomly organised, and reorganising them is time consuming
- looper has only 30 sec recording time. Often too short for me.
- recorded loops cannot be saved

General conclusion
A really great pedal with lots of great sounds ready to use, at a ridiculously low price.
