Yamaha NCX700

Waschbär, 30.10.2011
The NCX700 is a concert guitar in traditional construction, complemented by modern features such as a cutaway and a pickup system. Compared to the related NTX guitars, it has a body in full size and a traditional neck with a saddle width of 52 mm.

The guitar is worked inside and outside perfectly, there are no flaws to recognize and it looks also really good. The factory setting is almost perfect, the strings are pleasantly low for a classical guitar, but nothing is parsing. The slim, matte laced neck makes it easy for you to feel comfortable with the instrument. The guitar is bundrein and also in the high positions pleasant playable.

The acoustic sound is convincing. Strong with clear soft heights and prominent basses, overall very balanced. The guitar has a good dynamic range - from gentle picking to loud rhythm play everything is possible. However, it does not break any volume chords. It does not have to be an electro-acoustic guitar, because you can connect it to an amplifier at any time.

Yamaha's ART system delivers a very natural sound with its contact pickups. With the separately adjustable pickups for bass and treble strings, the sound can be perfectly adapted to your own ideas - you hardly need the 3-band EQ. The guitar does not sound very different from the pickup sound. This makes it very suitable for uncomplicated recording. Yamaha uses exactly the same pickup system in all NX models, up to the NCX2000, which costs a lot.

The built-in chromatic tuner is also very useful, as is the supplied rubber cover for the soundhole - for feedback suppression or to practice quietly.

Conclusion: The NCX700 convinces in all areas. The natural sound over the pickup is absolutely unrivaled for a 600EUR guitar. From me therefore a clear purchase recommendation!

Finally arrived

13.08.2015
After two terribly processed CGX 122 MSC and a rattling NCX700 I finally landed on a guitar that fulfills my wishes.
The guitar is good to play and makes you happy when you see it and in the hand takes.

The deductions in the processing result from the fact that this guitar also initially rattled at certain frequencies. After some tests I found the source of the Schepperei. It was the battery compartment and the cable installed there to the pickup system. There was probably saved.

Remedy for my copy: Foil foil of the guitar wrapping around the battery (try a lot) and stuff both together into the compartment. Attention, not too much, otherwise you do not get the battery out again. In addition, I have the cable in the middle grabbed and twisted two or three times. Since that is peace.
With the modification, the instrument is a source of joy!

Ps
In contrast to the CGX 122 MSC, you can slide along the neck of this guitar without tearing your fingers.

Pps
The support of Thomann has replaced the defective instruments irreproachably, respect.
