Yamaha CGS103A Classical Guitar

Classical Guitar

Many children start playing the guitar between the ages of eight and ten. And it was precisely this group that Yamaha was considering when designing the CGS103. With its smaller neck and body dimensions, this instrument lies exactly between a ½ and a full-size guitar and offers perfect comfort when playing, therefore promoting pleasant and productive learning.

Thanks to its spruce top and its bottom and sides made of nato wood - which is similar to mahogany and also often used for significantly more expensive models - the sound of the guitar is balanced and dynamic. The ideal complement to this is embodied by the one-piece, high-quality rosewood fretboard and a solid rosewood bridge.

Good basis for the young beginner

Christian148, 21.04.2016
For my 8-year-old son I have a good beginner guitar suitable for its body size. The guitar should above all be a good playability and a good tone offer and not too expensive, if
Guitar should not be the right thing to do.

For many years I have been playing guitar myself and I have always had good experiences with Yamaha acoustic guitars. So much of my decision this time on a Yamaha and indeed on the CGS103.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase of the guitar. The sound and the playability is in relation to the price really very good. My son is also looking forward to a guitar that is really fun from the beginning and is a serious instrument.

not bad

Philippe232, 04.06.2011
I bought this guitar for my 11 year old daughter who has fairly long and fine hands. I wanted to buy a brand (I already have an excellent Yamaha guitar silent). The grip is not bad but not great either. I find the handle a bit rustic, some frets exceed (but not at least to hurt anyway). The quality of manufacture of the case is also not great because we see some drips of varnish. The sound corresponds to what I anticipated a guitar like this: perfect to learn but obviously it is not a guitar that will keep more than 2 years of lessons in my opinion. To conclude: perfect for a beginner who is not sure it will continue but otherwise average value for money.
